Published 2023-01-04
Dr Seth Postell and Dr. Golan Broshi respond to the claim that Christian translators corrupted Psalm 2:12 and falsely added "Kiss the Son." Not only do they show how the literary structure of Psalm 2 demands the translation "kiss the Son," but they also refute the claim that Psalm 2 refers to David and not to the Messiah. If you study psalm 2 comprehensively, you'd understand that it's a conversation between the trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost; thank you my sweet savior Jesus Christ Yashua Hamashiach, for showing your humble servants the truth of who you are. The bible is an integrated message system outside our space time domain knowing the end from the beginning; His story in advance, learn it and trust in the one who gave it to us, immortal grace, so little time 😘🙏
  • People will always believe what they want to believe concerning the bible, but from Genesis to Revelation the whole bible is about Jesus the Messiah, and God through his word is going to make it plain not too far down the road

  • Who has gone up to the heavens and come down? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who established all the ends of the earth? What is His Name, And what is His Son’s Name, If you know it? Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 30:4 TS2009

Thank you for this. I too got "told" that it's because I don't know Hebrew (which admittedly I don't) that I get this interpretation about "the Son" wrong. It's good to know that Messiah is exactly who this Psalm refers to. It's one of my favorite Psalms and one I've memorized and cling to in this crazy world we live in today.

My favorite Psalm thanks for clarifying it.👏👍🙏🏽👼🏼🕊

Outstanding discussion! Enjoyed the comparison to 1 Chronicles 17:11-14! I would add Isaiah 7:14, Immanuel! Valuable discussion of Bar/Son. It is Messiah, through the seed of David! Thank you!

ACTS 13:33 God has completely fulfilled it to us, their children, by resurrecting Jesus; just as it is written in the SECOND PSALM: ‘You are MY SON[Jesus]; today I have become your father [JEHOVAH].’
  • @Jehoshophat
A discussion on how the installation of Caiaphas as high Priest by the Romans, despite the fact that Annas was High Priest, affected Jewish life and eventually lead Israel down a path that lead to it's destruction in 70AD would be interesting.
  • God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that He hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm: Thou art My Son, this day have I begotten thee. (Acts 13:33)
  • This is awesome understanding of Psalms 2— as a seasoned preacher I’ve learned a lot.

Blessed 🙏 are them that 'judge not' the Word of God... mankind is called to BELIEVE the Word of God, not to judge Scriptures.
  • @billboyd5310
Thanks again for this. Keep them coming. Shalom.
  • According to Strong's Exhaustive Concordance (H1248 "bar") = Son Borrowed (as a title) from bar; the heir (apparent to the throne) -- son. It's not merely a son but an heir apparent aka Crown Prince
