Wow it's crazy how Ben still thinks of himself as a fat person, whereas when I look at him all I see is a tall skinny man. Damn body dysmorphic tendencies really are a thing :/
  • @desireeknox2094
I love how delicate cris is asking him those questions. The respect in the relationship is amazing.

I find it really cute that when Ben met Cristine, he felt like he had something to live for
  • You can see the anxiety ben has talking about this, and i love how serious cristine is just listening and asking just the right quesitions not an ounce of humor or awkwardness She’s known for, because She’s not awkward talking with the man she loves about something that scared him, this is an awesome place in a relationship i just love you Guys not because you are a YouTube Couple is because you teach us how a healthy relationship looks like.

"It's impossible to have a conversation about physical health without talking about mental health too". AMEN! Also, this vid is a good example of not just a healthy relationship, but what a "real man" is: honest, open, confident enough in his "masculinity" that he has no problem sharing his feelings, or his lilac polka dot socks.
  • Awww, I feel this was hard for him to talk about. He seemed a bit shy about it. We're here for you Ben.

I love how Christine is asking the exact questions we wanna know ☺
  • Ben is such a national treasure, I swear. The fact that he started to care more about his health once he met Cristine is so sweet! Way to go Ben, I had no idea he’d lived through these types of issues, not in the slightest... it’s so hard to recover from it, and it seems that Ben has, I’m so happy for him
  • I clicked on this already annoyed thinking “oh this YouTuber is going to tell me their harrowing journey of losing twenty pounds to get from my ideal weight to theirs.” And honestly it felt really good to hear from someone who was in the near exact shape as me (minus some weight related health conditions I’m fighting) and came out the other side healthy and happy. I appreciate that he mentions walking and I’ve been watching some other weight loss content and I’ve learned that I need to stop listening to the weight loss gurus that tell me to do intensive work outs for three hours a day bc it makes me feel weak, essentially compared to how strong I once was, and makes me quit before I’ve truly started. Long story long I appreciate this video

I was overweight in high school and the prospect of the "Freshman 15" terrified me so much that I actually ended up doing, what I coined, the "Freshman -15". My fear manifested into an eating disorder and I lost 15 lbs in my first year of university. That eating disorder continued for almost 6 years.

What really stuck with me about this highlight, is Ben saying that even though he’s lost all this weight, he thinks he need to lose more; and that he still see himself a a fat person. Because I know exactly where he’s coming from. When I was my fittest in high school, I was at my smaller of like 155 but I had 150 as my goal weight; I hated looking in the mirror back then, because I thought I was so fat still. Unfortunately, to no ones fault but my own, I gained A LOT of weight after high school and I still remember thinking that way in highs cool. goes without saying that I hate my body even more now, then I did back then.

I was bullied for being overweight in middle school, which led to eating disorders such as bulimia and then to binge eating. The kids used to call me nicknames, referring to me as a ball. Looking back at the pictures of myself then, I cannot understand how I believed that I was fat. I was healthy, active and happy, and then I became unhealthy. I was starving myself all day. I limited myself to one meal a day in order to maintain a certain weight and to feel better about what I looked like. Eventually I started over eating to try and fill the emptiness I felt inside, which led to obesity. Now my struggle and aim is to work on healing myself emotionally, mentally and physically. This has helped me, hearing about someone else's journey in such a transparent manner. Thank you
  • As a person that has been heavy my whole life, I have always struggled with how I see myself.  Even when I lost 100 pounds I looked in the mirror and saw a much heavier me.  I would love to see more content about how you guys got healthier, you are so inspirational. Watching Cristine lifting weights makes me want to find a gym and do the same, maybe a video about how to safely lift so you don't break a nail would be interesting too. I love you guys.
  • Wow, I always thought been was taller, like over 6ft. Crazy what the camera does. He looks great regardless

WHY CANT I HAVE A RELATIONSHIP LIKE THIS CRISTINE IS SO DELICATE WHEN ASKING THESE QUESTIONS 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
  • So I was chatting with an Australian Olympic Swimmer sometime last year and she talked about "getting put out to pasture" as an athlete. She had a major injury and was put into the hospital with a very limited diet, so she got out of it ok. But her colleagues that stopped being professionals had a really hard time balancing their huge hunger (from doing all the exercise and sports) with their lessened amount of workouts. So a lot of them kind of ballooned after stopping competition.

This is my favorite segment of SimplyPodLogical so far. I really like seeing Christine as an interviewer. I feel like she has a good sensibility as an interviewer and I like seeing her "own" the mic. Maybe when quarantine is over she can bring in guests and interview them, I'd love to see that!
  • @annie6515
I really appreciate Ben’s willingness to share his experience. Good on ya Ben!
