A listener would like a refresher course on short term gratification vs. long term satisfaction regarding relationships. Dr. Laura has a story to tell...

I have admired you for decades, Dr. Laura. You are clear, quenching water in an arid, lonely desert.

There have been a lot of Men Going Their Own Way speakers the last few years. But Dr. Laura is the OG of them all.

Lol I wish I could send this to my mom, who has been married 6 times and always had a new boyfriend. I have to hear her BS every time we are on the phone. It’ll go over her head, though.

A relationship is like cake........ And sex is the frosting one without the other is always going to be boring eventually. Frosting it's great until you eat so much of it that you get sick and unsatisfied. cake is great but not in large quantities without frosting. In this analogy the cake is the foundation of the relationship and the frosting gets you through the hard times. Properly balanced, these things work together to enable a long-term happy relationship. When these are out of balance the relationship doesn't last long And both parties leave disappointed even if at the time they are leaving they don't admit it. Or understand why they are still feeling like something is missing.
  • Ive been a widow for 16 years. I had one boyfriend after my husband passed. He was in love with his high school sweetheart. She was married, she was cheating on her husband with him. She wanted him to find someone else, thats when i came in to the picture. We clicked right away. I enjoyed his company. I became unworthy...to put it lightly. He told me up front. I didn't hear my intuition because I was grieving. I like being alone now, less drama. I always say, he'll have to come up my driveway on a white elephant before i do that again. 😂 If its not there, we all know its not there, and they wont change their mind...we shouldn't either.

I would love for you to pick my brain but you already know my struggle. I have been deprogrammed to follow chemical inputs, humans lust for something they will never have, I AM.
  • You are great as always! Can you tell me what the jingle is at the end of your video and at the end of your old radio show? I would love to have the mp3 sound file of it for a notification sound on my phone!

Isn’t it “do it with me” not “do it to me”?

Interesting in that out of her same mouth comes the advice that “men need sex to feel connection and feel loved”
