Russian here, can confirm that I’ve had to drop kick at least 3 pandas this week

As a Russian speaker, I'll note that the fake pregnant lady is yelling "What are you, sick?" Also the phrase that Google Translated as "respect others" does mean that, but he's just a bad writer and used way too many words. He ended up saying something that literally means "interact respectfully with people around you", which is also a lot of (totally unnecessary) words and letters in English

I'm not russian, but as a finn i can say, that it's true. Russians do throw pandas at people's feet and expect them to pick it up. That's actually the reason Finland became independent from russia. We were sick of picking up pandas.

It’s actually very hard living here in Russia. I get pandas thrown at me EVERY DAY, I always get hugged from behind by random people I don’t know. Sometimes I think I’m getting kidnapped. I have guys that come up and try to put candy and weird food in my mouth, and kiss me, (obviously I give them candy bars afterwards) but it’s super confusing especially when some people hold me hostage in their trunks. I’m also stuck in this guys backyard so I don’t know what that’s about.

As a Ukrainian, my relatives are always telling stories of how they escaped the sevan dimensional chess backyard into Ukraine where no one would throw pandas and stick candy in people's mouths.

Danny being confused about how all those letters and words just translate to “Respect others” was my experience trying to learn Russian on Duolingo.

Why is this guy so serious? He seems like the kind of guy who would get a little wacky and a little silly but he’s holding back or something.

He's not even hugging them from behind, he's putting his hands on random girls hips and they're freaking out. I'd freak out too if someone did that to me!!

FYI the girl says "are you a psycho?" in Russian. Yep. doesn't make it any better. 🙄

russian sentences probably look longer than their english translations because russian has a much more complex grammatical structure. they have a case system for one thing, which is kind of like conjugation in spanish but instead of applying to verbs it’s for nouns depending on their function in the sentence. i believe they have to be applied to the adjectives describing them as well to make them agree. it frees you up to change the order of words more for emphasis, context, or as a literary device but it tends to make words longer.

I love how half of Danny’s skits just come from his own misinterpretations of what he’s watching. Like the candy bar/envelope thing was clearly her giving him her number lmao
