I started smoking at 15, smoked for 45 years, only quit one time, cold turkey, a year and a half ago. No vape, patch, gum, nothing. Just will power which I never thought I had. I've conquered smoking one craving at a time. You can do it too. Be the master of your own destiny!
  • Cold turkey is the BEST way to quit. I've got 40 days now and it's the longest I've quit in 15 years
  • @OfficialTonyTK
Cold turkey is the only way to quit. I decided to quit 1 day and did exactly just that. I told myself "quit being a lil bitch and quit"
  • @thehappyhoof
I smoked from the time I was 12 until I was about 60. then one day I accidently ran into your videos and watched them from the morning till the afternoon. By the afternoon I had decided to quit and I quit "COLD TURKEY". It was hard and it actually took me months to start feeling normal, but it was the best thing I ever did, and still can't believe I did it. I remember I just decided that no matter how I felt I was just not going to have that next smoke. That was now 5 years ago and I turned 65 today. I no longer have a constant cough, I've had maybe one cold I just rarely get sick. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for these videos Joel, you literally saved my life. Still hard to believe I did it, but I did it due to YOUR VIDEOS. God bless you! AND by the way I had tried to quit a number of times and failed. Also i never had a good by smoke just quit that day I watched your videos.

I quit smoking and drinking. And it only took me 10 seconds to do it. I just said enough with this crap. Sixteen years have passed and I never thought about booze or butts ever again. It just takes will power that is in all of us. Just quit.
  • Cold Turkey is the only way you're gonna quit. Don't treat nicotine as a reward that's just gonna lead to more smoking
  • @SteveNinetyski
Willpower is so underrated. I smoked 20 a day for 9 years, then one day I decided enough was enough. (Cold turkey) For me the Eureka moment was simply deciding I REALLY didn't want to smoke anymore. Anyone can do it..just make the decision and be your own master. The thought of being a slave to something so detrimental both financially and physically sickens me now.

I quit cold turkey more than 9 years ago and haven't smoked a cigarette since and haven't thought about it in years. If you can't quit cold turkey it's because you aren't ready to quit. That's my opinion.

This is how I quit a pack a day habit of red 100s. I quit smoking instantly but my success was because I also quit coffee at the same time . I do not drink anything but water. I have been off both for 3 years and 14 days. I honestly had extremely mild withdrawals by day 3 I only had a craving or so once or twice a day for 15 minutes or so looking back my success was because I quit caffeine as well. I personally didn't have any headaches I looked at the process as my lungs healing . When I gained momentum I never looked back . I lost weight didn't gain it my energy increased my sleep improved . Best decision I have ever made . So glad I don't have to wake up in the night and have a smoke or have to drink a pot of coffee every morning my life improved immediately after day 2 you can do it throw away all your cigarettes/ coffee tea and just start do gods will not yours and you can quit easily and effortlessly . Smoking is a curse

2 days and counting. Thank you for ALL your advice.
  • I quit cold turkey after smoking for 40 years. I was about 14 yrs old when I started and I am months short of my 54th birthday. The first days I am not going to lie to you were very rough I was not sure if I would make it. But I put my mind to it and decided I was in control and made it past the 2 weeks mark and have been smoke free ever since. I tried to quit before used patches , nicotine gum, and all kinds of crazy stuff. Finally I just decided to use my mind and that is what worked best. I know people say this and it is true " If I can do this so can you". Well that is the truth and man do I feel better my lungs don't hurt anymore,my chronic cough went away, blood pressure is normal and wow I have saved so much money!
  • I woke up one morning and said to myself you don't need to smoke so guess what I went cold turkey and now been 10 weeks I have no intention of ever go back to smoking I can't stand the smell now at all lol I had smoked 30 years
  • @nalotamut8286
My dad quit cold turkey, my mom quit cold turkey, it's my 8th day of quitting cold turkey, only one left is my younger brother.
  • Using nicotine replacement products just keep the misery going longer! Cold turkey is painful, but it works! Everyone needs to listen to Joel; he knows the best way.

It was Joel Spitzer's videos that helped me quit over 6 years ago. I am SO GRATEFUL. This is the thinking person's quit. Watch as many as you can. I coupled these with an online quitting forum, for daily support. I was a big smoker. It was the hardest thing I've ever done. My body and mind tried so hard to rebel. But it simply can to a commitment to never take a another puff. These videos really helped me understand what was going on with the cravings. Nothing can help with the suffering through withdrawal. It tough, very tough. But SO worth it! I have long ago thrown away my list of reasons to quit. That list was very helpful, too. But now, I just enjoy living without all the smell, hassles, expense and health worries. And I actually LESS anxiety. Keep watching, and learning. And then, make a commitment to never take another puff.

I quit cold turkey 50 weeks ago. I went from a 40+ a day habit to zero overnight. It's a much more intense withdrawal episode but I GUARANTEE YOU - you'll suffer for less time than someone using NRT. Patches, Gum, vapes etc - all these do is sustain the nicotine addiction. Be human, be strong, say NO. You'll get through like all of us.
  • I am celebrating 4 months and some change. I still listen to Joel because I just feel good watching his videos
  • @fauxbot5000
Joel, I discovered you on the internet about 4 years ago.  The things you taught me have helped me remain nicotine-free for over 3 years now.   Seriously, thank you.
