fun fact a reporter who interviewed Simo Häyhä asked him "what did you feel when you shot all these people?" his answer was "the recoil"

What's so crazy about Simo Hayha is that he never used a scope unlike most of the other entries on this list did. He used strictly iron sights. He did this to avoid fogging up the scope lenses and to avoid the glint giving away his position.

Everything is fun and games, until the snow starts speaking Finnish.

Simo is such a legend nobody even disagrees about him being number 1 he is the best by far
  • @betterchapter
never mess with someone who can shoot you down from a different postal code.

We all know the best protection against snipers is the Nokia 3310
  • I can already tell who’s number 1 and it’s well deserved, it’s always nice to hear about him again. Although he probably doesn’t care much for compliments.

The video didn’t mention just how major Simo Hayha’s wounding was; he took an explosive bullet to the face and survived after losing his upper jaw, part of his lower jaw and part of his left cheek. He would’ve likely continued fighting if he were allowed to after his injury

Other snipers: * Uses scopes * Simo häyhä: I don't have such weaknesses

8:20 what a legend , my respects. War after war never got a break.
  • @adamernster2471
What the didn’t mention was the short time it took Simo . He was averaging 5 kills a day for almost 4 months.
  • @sneakyblitz657
The fact that Simo Haya didn't use a scope should be in this
  • @TyfoiD75
I met Simo Häyhä once. We talked.. not about the war, as he was like my both grandfathers, who did not talk about war. I naturally knew who he was, injury was a giveaway and all knew of him. He did say the same thing as my grandfathers... "pray that you never have to experience war"

Can we all just take a moment to thank deer for their sacrifices for food, clothing, and the incredible people their sacrifices have given us all?
  • @rashmit
My man Simo didn't even use a scope, if he doesn't deserve a #1 spot then who does?!
  • Two common threads: 1. Growing up in isolated rural areas and hunting is common to most of these snipers. 2. The fight within the fight. Minorities had to fight to join the fight.
  • Simo Häyhä ist better on this List Well deserved Place #1 in my Opinion
