Ah finally someone translated this. I have seen so many JP clips of Mashiro’s dark stories that I legit start wondering how far his Summer Saturates cover is from his real life, but hardly any clips of them are in English. From the top of my head, I can think of: - How his family had a tradition of burning down all of somebody’s important belongings during their last year of middle school. For Mashiro, that was his manga, sketchbooks and legos and he watched it happen expressionlessly as tears streamed down his face. - How as a kindergartener, his grandma told him that he’s not important to anyone and that they just treat him well because he’s his father’s kid. Now he lives in her old house and is worried the creepy things happening in it is due to his grandma’s ghost. - How he felt so uncomfortable going home during high school, there were often nights where he’d bath at public bathhouses and sleep at McDonalds. - This one’s translated but in the drip where he talked about how his family probably found out about his vtubing activities, he corrected “my parents” to “I guess the people related to me” and in combination to what he tells us about his family situation, how he refers to his little sister in past tense, just paints a very morbid picture.

Life goal: Become a Nijisanji liver, get large enough to go to the JP office, meet Mashiro, give them a big hug and tell them they're alright.

it is shameful that people who would shame and bully a student work in education. And it is so depressing how often more behind-the-scenes shittalking happens in break rooms. This is just from my perspective in the u.s. i can't really imagine what it is like in japan

Owww I’m glad he talked about it tho. Especially since he is alone and has no one . I’m grateful for his cats and I hope he meets someone nice

I think you are the only clipper who translate Mashiro's streams, and i love it! Thank you for your hard work!

Thank you for translating this clip. He's been through a lot but I'm glad he's in happier situation now ;w; Also I suppose him cutting ties with his family also explains why sometimes he talks about his sister with past tense (as if she's gone) or present tense (as if she's still around). He probably thinks that he's no longer her brother since he already cut ties but at the same time he also recognizes the feeling or being a brother....

i relate too much damn, i was bullied too (in 8th grade) by just this one teacher, she made me feel the worst to the point of having su/cidal thoughts and lucky enough my grandma let me change to another school, even after changing 2 more times the trauma was way too... impress in me that i couldnt go even if no one was mean (or talked) to me, stopped talking to everyone and shit to finally just dropout school. It's been 4 years after that and i just recently retake my studies and finally want to study again but still lingers from time to time so yeah... hes like me, hes like me fr *clunches fist *
  • I used to be in that situation many years ago, I left my old town in bad terms and it took me years and new friends to get over it, it's a big personal hell that follows you in a unconscious way

I can relate. I've been having trouble falling asleep recently because I'm also thinking about things that have happened to me in the past. I was often made fun of by my classmates from elementary to middle school (maybe even now) because all they saw in me was that I'm different from them. Some of my friends did that too. And it took me years to realize that I should've just cut ties them. Then at the same time, my home environment isn't the best either. Sometimes I remember about my parents or my siblings fighting, and the way I just feel useless not being able to help. I'm not sure how to explain all of it, but I just wanted to share this. Thank you for the translation!

I have fairly decent relationship with my family but I still feel isolated. However, its different for this guy. My eyes were tearing up while watching this. I want to give this person a big hug.
  • @wxlurker
I also used to take at least 2 hours to fall asleep like Mashiro cause of stress and all the stuff my brain would show me and it only just clicked for me that this was probably a trauma response….
  • Man, and we can't do nothing but just listen to all the pain he's gone through.

Ive never felt so relatable until I found out I was not the only one that had to make a choice on living alone with the same situation Feels warm inside
