BIG TIP HERE : I just finished with my Ryobi. Take the 2 screws out holding throttle assembly to carb. Pull out throttle assembly and use a Dremel with a cutoff wheel to make a cut straight across the top of the brass, so you can use a flathead to adjust it. I want to thank you for showing me where the adjustment was. I know this video isn't new but it still helps.

I'd looked all over for an adjusting screw and never would have thought that little brass one in the middle was it. Fixed and running perfectly in about 1 minute. Thanks!

Helpful video. I didn't know where the adjustment was on this carb. Now I need the D tool.

man, you hit the nail on the head - my problem exactly - bogging down. I didn't know there was any adjustment other than the idle. thanks for the video.
  • Thanks for the info...that burp at the end just verified no BS content on this video clip đź‘Ť
  • Fixed mine too. Thing is only a year old, so I am very grateful. Thanks!

Looks like a similar setup on the jet fan 2 stroke ryobi leaf blower(ry25axb). Usual high speed adjustment usually located by fuel line outlets, however these walbro carbs don't have it there, glad you found it. They set these things lean and mean from factory but it was 40 degrees and needed richer high-speed.
  • This is exactly what I was looking for. I in couldn’t find the screw until I saw this. Thank you so much!!

Nice, I have one of these, after couple of years started running little rough, put on a new $15 dollar carb, runs like new

I almost spit my coffee out laughing with that burp !

You're lucky fella your Ryobi Expand It came with an Walbro adjustable carb. Mine came with a POS Ruixing non-adjustable carb. I've ordered a different aftermarket carb from Amazon, we'll see if it works after it's installed. If not, likely to go to trash, and it's only been used a couple seasons. Shame on Ryobi and Home Depot for selling a product that can't be repaired. Planned obsolescence. That said, glad u could adjust yours.
  • I just bought one has lil ah lil bogg thought it was an Alene key down in their very help full vid thank you

I just bought this trimmer and it didn't want to start! At all!! I followed the instructions and nothing! So I primed it again 10 times and then I pulled the starter cord 5times on full choke then I put choke on half choke and pulled about 4times and it fired up! I let it run on half choke for about a minute just to let the internals seat and then put the choke lever to run and it ran beautifully no bogs just the sweet sounds of a 2stroke! I'm running a 50-1 premix Home Depot sells it in a can ready to pour. Hope this helps any one because I didn't have to touch any carb screws

Thanks man! Thing would never start if i turned it off when it was hot. Would have to wait at least 30 minutes before it would fire again. It was bogging down at full throttle too. Taking the weed wacker out this weekend. Single d and half turn out

Thank for share. I just fix mine today. Was different type of carb adjustment tool but was right there in the brass and only half turn out like you mentioned on video. Thanks

Thanks for the info. I’m a fan of Ryobi I have the older version of the weedwacker and backpack blower. But, this unit is a POS. A friend dropped one of because he could not start it. Turned out the ignition coil is a cheap spring and it separated from the wire that leads to the coil. I could rig it up but for $150 it’s not cheap and they cut corners everywhere. This carb is another example which of course I don’t have the tool to adjust it.
