Friends and neighbors, Miss Noeline Hofmann. Cowgirl, songwriter, biggest heart on the prairie, has written a song for rancher resilience. Her early years of working in the plains of Alberta as a ranch hand near the Saskatchewan river was such an inspiration to her that she couldn’t keep these beautiful songs locked up. While dealing with the everyday hardships of being a cowhand, Noeline listened to the stories of her co-workers and bosses. Expressing the everyday gambles and trials of working the land. That’s where “Purple Gas,” the anthem or love note to ranching culture, was born. A song that will live in infamy with the hope that it never becomes a lament for the most under-appreciated job in the west.
Thank you to Maggie Geis for helping us produce this piece and being our Canadian production wrangler in a land we barely knew.

She deserves the same recognition that Zach getting

Definitely get the same feeling as when I caught Colter for the first time in 2017. On the verge of generational-legend status haha
-
This version is the best. You can hear the soft, earthy tones that make her voice so unique and relatable.

"Purple Gas" is a love letter to the prairies, a tribute to the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to feed and fuel a nation. It's a song that reminds us of the importance of roots, of the enduring connection between people and place. And in its quiet, unassuming way, it's a song that celebrates the extraordinary beauty of ordinary life. I can't wait to witness where Noeline takes us next in her creative journey.

As beautiful as this song is… if you grew up on a farm/ranch, or are still there, this hits you just a tad bit different.
-
So good!!! I would love to hear a duet with Colter, just a couple folks from northern Montana lol
-

I hear a little bit of Iris Dement! What a beautiful girl with a beautiful voice. Not to mention she's a redhead. So many great things about her! =) Thank you Ms. Noeline. <3 (Had to edit - Her laugh at the last second is soooo cute!)

Such an honest old soul, molded by the land.. makes me proud and nothing else beats being a prairie kid.

This girl is like magic, her voice and soft guitar playing has me in a trance. Love her style too!
-
great talent. loving the shimmer in the high notes
-
Saw her open for CC. She’s phenomenal and can’t wait to hear more from her.
-
I really hope a version gets put on Spotify that's just her singing it. Zach Bryan's cool and all but this should be her song and her song alone.
-
Simple chords, brilliant lyrics and chilling vocals. This song, on repeat, all day.
-
I'm from Australia, and I relate to this song, your music and sound is amazing, thank you😊

We saw her play it live for the first time in Montana this summer! Beautiful and haunting.

Westeraf recordings are always better that studio recordings. Change my mind
