That's the typical response to a Pit Bull seeing a raccoon. They definitely would want to grab it. Not all Pit Bulls will, but many would. It is in the breed's DNA as catch dogs and fighters used against a number of different animals from wild pigs, bulls, rats, badgers, other dogs, etc. I have said that raccoons are pretty good game for Pit Bulls to hunt and face. They are everywhere, seen as pest, are commonly hunted anyway, and put up quite a fight. Hunting is part of the history of dogs like this. I would rather a Pit Bull hunt a raccoon than fight another dog. Just make sure a dog is vaccinated before taking them on a hunt.
