Tulsi Gabbard's Case Against the Democratic Party

Published 2024-05-07
Tulsi Gabbard (four-term congresswoman and author, “For Love of Country: Leave the Democrat Party Behind”) joins Chris Cuomo to share why she left the Democratic Party, touching on her concerns about its increasingly partisan policies. She critiques the party's handling of key issues like free speech, foreign policy, and the role of government, arguing that its current trajectory undermines American values. Gabbard also discusses the impact of identity politics on national unity, the importance of a balanced foreign policy approach, and the need for genuine accountability in government.

  • I didn't leave the Democratic party, the Democratic party left me. I'm now an Independent.🇺🇸🗽

Donald Trump should pick her as his VP pick. Legacy is the reason. After four years, she runs on the Republican ticket and wins the presidency. The first woman president he would go down in history. And as somebody who’s more on the Republican side, I would be very happy with her.
  • Tulsi speaks the truth and she is extremely intelligent. Thanks Chris for having her on

Lifelong MA Democrat and lesbian mother of three here… I love Tulsi. I feel like she encapsulates my own disappointment with where my party has ended up… Will proudly be voting for Trump this year whereas I protested against him in the women’s March after he was elected last time… Wacky journey, but I don’t think I’ll ever go back to the Dems. Glad Chris is waking up too ❤

Trump is crazy if he doesn't choose this woman as his VP. I am an independent also. I used to think Trump was the closest thing we'd ever get to having an independent in the White House. (He had been a member of multiple parties during his life, but mostly Democrat.) Now I believe Tulsi is the closest thing to a true independent that will ever be in the White House. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of the end of both of these awful parties.

The comments🥴 The majority of Americans are center left or center right. Critical thinking, common sense and the obligation to question our government and their agendas are 100% vital going forward. Step outside of your group-think for five seconds, listen and reevaluate. Things aren’t good here anymore.

I sure hope Trump picks Tulsi for vice-president. She would put Harris to shame in a vice-presidental debate as well as fight for the military.
  • @CC-USA
Cuomo is so afraid to take a stance that could damage his ratings with the Libs. But, PBD LOVES Tulsi. Quandary 😂
  • @mellink14
She speaks the truth. The only way to turn around politics in this country is to have more politicians breaking away from the control of the Republican and Democratic parties & becoming Independent. Kudos to Chris for not being afraid to bring us these conversations.
  • @satori-in-life
I already ditched Democrats four years ago and I’m never going back. The “Democratic” party is completely unrecognizable from the party it used to be and has abandoned its old base.
  • @aliahmed5571
I never believed I would say this but Chris is way cooler after he left CNN
  • I can’t believe I’m watching your podcast. I’ve cussed you for years. However, I’ve come to tolerate you after your first appearance on PBD and then TCN. Seems like you have finally found some common sense since leaving lamestream media.
  • Say something negative about Tulsi. You can't, because she's nothing but honorable.
  • @maze400
"United we stand" was meant for "we the people" not the parties. The problem is "we the people" have not figured that out. Those who have been elected from both parties have which is why there is tribalism. I like Tulsi, always have. She is intelligent, articulate and has an understanding of the past, present and future.
  • @dwil4582
Great interview. You’re both good people. I love she is brave enough to say what a lot of us are thinking these days about parties. Thanks Chris for you and Tulsi efforts to try and bring us back together.
  • @glencruciani
Love her and would vote for her based on her ability to be an independent and compassionate thinker.
  • @EliasAlucard
Trump would be wise if he chose Tulsi as his VP. She's absolutely great
