Tanks, you know the deal. The War Within's anti-tank agenda continues, but on the bright side - here are the specs that are still coming into the expansion as winners. Maybe you made the cut?

  • Biggest W for Guardian druid is that other druid specs and in even worse condition so you're probably the one bringing Vers buff
  • @dustson
funny though that guardian druid is the highest candidate for being the meta tank
  • The only losers in WoW are players who follow meta instead of picking a class and spec that gives them the most fun.

I actually really like the idea of giving tanks huge hp pools and less spikey damage. Blizzard talked about how they want mana management to be a part of healer gameplay. I think this is better than what we have.
  • Warrior spamming Ignore Pain makes it possibly the least fun tank class in the game
  • this is reminding me of our transition out of wotlk (where tanks could aoe pull half the dungeon and be fine) and into cata (where we had to cc troublesome mob packs and things started off just... tougher all round on us. Kinda hoping that's the case, as right now everyone is mostly sitting on utility and leaning hard into tunnel visioning to top meters. Anyone else tired of the "oh no, my parses!" shenanigans we've been dealing with?
  • to be fair, as long as the numbers are relatively okay, i don't mind hearing that Guardian Druid is boring. i have shaman/mage button-bloat PTSD, so i'm kinda cool with my tank being less complex. 🧸
  • @durk5331
Guardian not being changed much, actually sounds perfect to me, cuz I am Not a Natural Tank, it being flat, boring, easy is Perfect... if I want flavor on my Guardian I'll go Feral...
  • Is it possible they're keeping Druid simple to make sure there's a class that's approachable for new and returning players? As someone who only plays WoW intermittently (and tends to be indecisive about my role when I do play), the simplicity of Druid specs is part of the appeal. This is especially true when I try to tank, since tanking tends to require more situational awareness than other roles, and I don't need to be spending a lot of time staring at my skill and resource bars to figure out which skill to use next.
  • I got an idea to make players not feel like gods... Reduce their dang hit points. No reason to have players running around with that much health which means NPCs health can be scaled down and DPS numbers can be scaled down.
  • @KosmicKane
“How do you challenge a god?” You don’t. That’s why we play tanks we don’t want to be challenged we want to be immortal and strong
  • @sked11
This is killing the fantasy of blood dk for me. I loved being a beefy boy with tons of armor siphoning health mobs took from me right in their face. This change seems like a step towards more passive heals like paladin. Please leave the classes feeling semi different at least.

Oh lordy, ok so for anyone interested in how tanks are actually performing watch Dorki's video. For instance Guardian and Veng are very strong and will be top contenders. So consume this video here for fun, but do not at all take any of this to thought.
  • @Junqers
ATM we are all losers in TWW as there is no M+ queue system yet
  • @FragMaster93
i would personally have liked a stamina buff to go with these nerfs so we're not that much weaker overall and the healers have more Hp to keep up which the tanks can't.
