Showing my 6 inch blade Smith & Wesson Homeland Security cammo knife with some heavy chopping. This knife is a serious heavy duty implement owing to its thick quarter of an inch blade and solid full tang. Made from 440C hammer forged surgical steel. It could chop wood all day long with no damage, who needs an axe??

Smith & Wesson commissioned the manufacture of this knife out to Taylor Cutlery who in turn farmed the work out in China. As everything is made in China today, its no great issue or surprise.

I added the red and white Smith & Wesson cloth patch on myself along with the metal badge on the front.

Thanks dirtrider169, Its a heavy, rugged, robust, solid built knife and can take a hammering. I would not do that with my Ka-Bar.

S&W knives are made by Taylor and are really good.  They stand right up next to the crazy expensive survival knives on the market.  I have this knife, a CKSURG, a SW7S, and many more S&W.  Good review that actually shows what a knife can do!

Just and fyi but any knife with a tip can stab and cut paper. If it will not cut it from the top it fails the paper test.

The new model sports 7Cr17 steel, a 440A-equivalent steel. This niggardly act on the part of Smith & Wesson has really put me off on them, but they also cheapened the sheath, which isn't as sturdy as the sheaths that came with the 440C models. They just cut too many corners at one time and it irks me.
