The main purpose of this video is to provide a 'quick overview' or 'summary' of what(who) happened in Kpop overtime. It's focus is to quickly skim through big events, groups, and some rough context of Kpop history, rather than to specifically explain the aspects/traits of Kpop or achievements of particular groups. Any additional info that you would like to provide is more than welcomed in the comments. Any fan-war related behavior or comments will be deleted. +edit) 1. 0:39 / 00:59 this is an incorrect map that states 'Sea of Japan'. The correct name is 'East Sea'. 1. 0:44 Korea was divided even before the war by the Soviet Union and the US. The Cold War had already began and the Korean war was a 'period(full stop)' that ultimately divided the country into today's North and South Korea. 2. 16:40 Red Velvet was the first Kpop idol to perform in Pyeongyang among the 2-3rd gen of Kpop. 1st: Sechskies, Fin.K.L / 2nd: Shinhwa, Baby Vox If you enjoyed this video and would like to see more of these types of videos, please support us at : www.patreon.com/dkdktv

So the real question is How old is JYP?! This man hasn’t aged since the 90s I’m starting to think he must be a vampire or some type of immortal being.
  • The fact that Seo Taiji suddenly came in 2017 and declared BTS as his rightful successors itself says a lot. BTS definitely changed a lot of perspectives in the way how songs are written so that everyone can connect to them. I am just so proud of BTS Anyways 7Fates CHAKHO OST is coming soon :)
  • Seo Taiji passing the torch to BTS together at his 25TH Anniversary Concert > both wrote about social issues since teens w/hip-hop base Together:"ComeBackHome"=🔥🔥

Seo Taiji is really special because he is not just special in terms of music, but he has completely changed the Korean music industry. The concept of comeback comes from Seo Taiji. Before there was a concept of comeback, the singer didn't have any special authority, but Seo Taiji didn't want to do it. He wanted a cycle of making songs with plenty of rest, working for some time, relaxing and making songs. That's why I did it, but it was possible because it was Seo Tai-ji, and after that, everyone followed suit and became a culture.

This was 2 years ago. Now, BTS is known as the Princes of Global Pop. As Time magazine mentioned, BTS is no longer limited to K-Pop.
  • @LietSayri
I live in America, and I can say HANDS DOWN that when people hear "Korea" they ask "Do you know BTS?" That kind of instant recognition is something I don't see with any other kpop groups.
  • @reitokira145
