Some info on what this song's actually about: They're criticizing Japanese overwork culture. This is a brave act for them, and it's almost exclusively done by lesser known artists. So them doing this on an international stage is a huge deal.

It’s a bright, poppy song about the grinding dystopia of modern Japanese cities. I love this group.

Their choreography is insanely mesmerizing. Like almost hypnotic. The music just adds to it. I don't feel like I'm listening to music. I feel like I'm being lulled into a trance. It's kind of insane.

It is so wild to see them go from their humble internet videos to the world stage. I love how accepting the American talk show crowd is of them.
  • What's special about this group is that they have been designing all their own choreographies since they were 14. They now even design choreographies for other groups. They also don't have a specific music genre, they do a lot of jazz fusion and punk and more recently have been working with the Beastie Boys producer Money Mark for the western market. They are NOT an idol group. Some have even called them an art project since it's so difficult to define them.

What a performance. Just four girls, no digital FX bollocks and they blew the lid on the place. Very uplifting tune too

This song is one of my favorites in their discography because it represents the pain and the battles those from the work class fighting everyday to live. Everyday they are "called". Thank you for giving them the chance to shine!

These girls deserve all the exposure and stardom they've been getting. Not only their songs are awesome, but also their passion, stage presence , dancing and youthful energy are unmatched. I hope even more people start exploring AG's music after watching this video, because their energy is contagious and revitalizing too!

I met them in 2018, it was a small venue in Shibuya with maybe 200 audience members. They were so impressive in their performance even back then, I remember them really standing out from other groups. After the concert the groups were giving autographs and selling merch - Atarashii Gakkoo didn't have any staff with them, just the four members. They waved at me, shouting "haroo!" and I really liked them so I went over and bought a cd. I could only say "thank you" or such in Japanese, but I remember their bright energy. Seeing them become globally known is just amazing.
  • I’m addicted to Atarashii Gakko after their epic performance at Coachella this year. It’s so awesome that they were on JKL!
