How to "cook without fire", or more specifically, an overview of various meals that use flameless ration heaters, including typical MREs, or Meals Ready to Eat, Heater Meals, and the Mountain House Mountain Oven system.

    The actual sealed food pouches in the MREs, as well as the Heater Meals products, have water in them. In other words, they are not "freeze dried" products like the Mountain House food packs. It's a trade-off in pack weight. You're trading the convenience of not having to add water to the MRE for the slight inconvenience of a heavier product. Thanks for watching !

    Thanks for the info but not my cupa either, I would rather go the peanut butter and crackers route etc. than eat any of that ultra processed 'stuff' but understand for some situations they have their use.
