What happened to Warzone Mobile?

“After the smashing success of Activision and Tencent’s bringing of the legendary Call of Duty franchise to smartphones around the world — becoming one of the largest mobile games of all time.
This multi-billion dollar company is back with 11 whole studios, half a decade of experience on the platform, one of the most skilled development teams out of the entire world, and almost 3 full years of hard intensive labor, bringing what’s rumored to be the biggest and most advanced mobile shooter of all time — and they are actively struggling to add the most basic of graphic settings which have been standard for every mobile game of the past decade.

Oh yeah, and that same game has allegedly been causing genuine damage to phone processors and battery life through severe device overheating.”

In this video, I cover what exactly happened with Warzone Mobile and its horrendous Global Release: from the success of its predecessor, the early development process, the beta phases, and the global summit, all the way up to the global release and the harsh aftermath.

While yes, this video leaves Warzone Mobile in a pretty negative light, I’d like to state that there genuinely is hope for the game. The devs (or whatever’s left of them) are working extremely hard to patch things up and the game is getting more and more positive reviews on the daily.

Regardless of if it making a grand comeback or continuing to sink into its watery grave, I hope to make a sequel documenting the rest of this game’s journey when the time comes.

  • Also, I am NOT defending Tencent by making this video — their time will come. For now, do you think I should revisit Warzone down the line and make a sequel to cover how the game progresses from here?
  • Most installed game❌ Most uninstalled game ✅
  • Using a pc/console engine for a mobile game is like using an oven to cook rice
  • Apex Legends Mobile was ahead of its time. I hope Respawn do actually being serious when they said they're not giving up on mobile just yet.
  • The biggest downfall of warzone mobile was not catering to the majority of mobile players. These triple A game developers should understand that not all mobile players have those expensive high end devices that can run their games. Even then, these high end devices can only run the game on low to mid setting before turning to a handheld toaster after a few games.
  • 3 months after launch - no global chat, no leaderboard system, no ranked system, and the rest of the other issues this game has had is very obvious. 2025 shutdown might be possible tbh. Only time will tell but it’s gonna be very hard for this game to keep going when pubgm and codm are still topping the mobile playerbase 5 years later.
  • Long story short, they are greedy and dont want to share the profit with any studio, CODM is a failure for them
  • Glad someone is talking about it, so tired of seeing people mad coping and making content as if the game is even playable
  • The main problem is, iw engine isn’t meant for mobile devices, they should've gone with more friendly engines such as unreal engine
  • I am an active CODM player. Sure CODM has its own flaws, it is not a perfect game. However, the gaming experience CODM offers has been great for mobile gaming. I couldn't understand why they had to remove Alcatraz and Shoot House from CODM so we were forced to play the map on CODWZM, what kind of marketing was that? CODWZM does the complete opposite of what made CODM great in the first place. I wanted both games to coexist, but WZM is a colossal mess beyond repair. You are correct, WZM was dead on arrival.
  • This game had my flagship gaming device with a built-in fan and 100 layer cooling system melting.
  • @Jonardius
I had to quit cause the graphics were locked to medium and high, like if I put it in medium it would run disgustingly and would look like a potato at the same time 💀
  • They should just let tencent cook now tencent cooking Delta force and it looks better in it's beta
  • I don't see the problem. They're giving you a free heater. Should be good once the winter comes in.
  • I uninstalled CODM for CODWZM. That was the worst mistake I did. 4 studios worked on this game but still ended up shit! Wow!
  • They digged their own graves the moment they expected their playerbase to have Redmi Note 9's as a minimum to play the game
  • Shits still unoptimized and they still have that shit ass streaming graphics feature
  • Warzone Mobile ❌️ Warmzone Mobile ✅️
  • Such a high quality video and only 900 views? Impossible
  • Attempting to play WZM turned my phone into the sun. Nice video glad to see you back
