1989, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Texas v. Johnson that flag burning is protected speech covered under the First Amendment. That any display using against the United state flag code was unenforceable. As much as I don't like the guy, if he feels that the nation is in distress, he still has every right to put it upside down. The distress garnered by the flag doesn't have to represent the individual but can be a person's views on society itself. Our nation is morally, financially and educationally bankrupt.
