Day in a Nazi Concentration Camp

It’s disgusting how people even thought about doing this to people.

My grandmother was a prisoner at Dachau from 1939 until 1945. She told us stories about train cars that were packed so tightly people would eventually die, but there was no room for them to fall, so there were numerous standing corpses packed amongst the prisoners. When they stopped, the prisoners were hosed down with strong fire hoses that were extremely painful. The gas showers were a regular threat, and you never knew if you would get gas or water after the doors were closed. The Germans performed all sorts of inhumane medical and dental experiments on prisoners. They were testing to see what methods of torture would be most painful and effective. There was this one dental torture that my grandmother said was the most painful thing she ever experienced. It was far worse than any beatings, broken bones, whips dipped in broken glass and vinegar or lye, branding, etc. The dental torture was unimaginable.

I ate breakfast at my local burgerking with an elderly CC surviver in the late 90s b4 school. He showed me the number still on his old thin skin and would speak about it occasionally. It was a true honor to hear his first hand account. Ill never forget.

My grandfather on my cousin's side was a POW and in captivity during WWII in the Philippines. He survived the Bataan Death March and in captivity in a POW camp in the Philippines along with his fellow prisoners who also survived when they were saved and rescued during the Philippines Campaign 1944-45.

My great grandpa was a Holocaust survivor. He survived a concentration camp. It’s a disgrace what Germany did.

The sick thing is that there are still people out there who think they "deserved it" The lengths people will go to in order to dehumanize others is just overwhelming

I think y'all should do a video about the Japanese concentration camps in China.

Just today in my social studies class we had a 99 year old Holocaust survivor talk about his experiences. He told some truly fascinating stories

Man. I'm glad I wasn't born in Germany around 1920. They put people who were unproductive in concentration camps? Or prison? I'm lazy AF.

The holocoust affected my family a lot. One person from my family, just outsmarted them and survived. They heard about Jews needing to register, and they simply didnt. One day, his wife was being dragged out by Nazi's, he yelled "SHES NOT A JEW!!!, SHES NOW A JEW!!!", and once they got to the police station, they saw they wernt registered as a Jew. On the other hand, 40 of my family members where hidining in a large apartment compplex. One day, Nazi's came in. We never saw them again, we think the superintendant of the apartment told on them.

Imagine just chilling one day and the a group of nazis just break into your home

It makes me sick that people can be heartless enough to do such things to other human beings.

A distant cousin of mine died at Dachau concentration camp.. a few months before the war ended , he died of typhus, it hurts me that he suffered

Its so heartbreaking to know this happend, i cant imagine how much suffering so many people endured, just becapuse. I also cant imagine how a portion of the few people that survived could go on with their lives and even some finding peace and forgivenes. Humans are truly incredible
