Davie: “It’s s little bit hard to play.” Also him: Plays it perfectly
  • The White Stripes, Seven Nation Army, I think, is the song you were playing a line of on the Tongue Pen. You made the Kalimba sound nice!

I have a fascination of ancient instruments like shamanic drums, it may just have one playable tone, but they're strummed to resonate at very low frequencies reminiscent of your heartbeats as we can hear them with our own ears and how we feel them. And then there's this instrument called a "bowed harp" which is very drone based in its' sound. (:

Very nice to see Davie making music no matter what instrument is in his skilled & beautiful hands. Davie THEREMIN PLEASE-- You can slap the air & make music!

Musical instruments can get weird, but bass will always remain unchanged.

When I want a good cry, I go back to your 'just the 2 of us' cover and get blown away all over again. Thanks for that one.
  • Good job as always, brilliant!...really liked the shout-out to Samurai Guitarist (he's from Winterpeg!). I've been a dedicated follower of his since seeing his version of the BÖC classic "Don't Fear The Reaper" - each instrument played on a separate iPad and all overdubbed with video editing to make a perfect version of the song (there's even a Cowbell iPad 'cause the producer always demands MORE COWBELL!). Another brilliant video (which I found on TwistedSifter's Shirk Report (another Internet genius-type)). Go Canada! 💖 🇨🇦
  • Davie is so generous for adopting all the instruments that dont have a home 😔🤝🏡🎸

When I was kid in the 1980’s I remember seeing the Casio DG-20 in sales Catalogs for electronic stores and toy stores. I haven’t seen one since then until the thumbnail of this video. Very cool.

This is so funny and so clever. Really love this guy.

I’m a guitar player in bands for 40 years and my favorite instrument is the Hammond B3. Our keyboardist died recently but he was the best musician in the band…..I miss my brother Pat
  • 3:03 - Oh, this is easy. It's the infamous Italian stadium chant on which the White Stripes based their silly song on.

I have a whole studio of thrift-store found musical equipment, but one of my personal favorites has to be the Suzuki Omnichord 200m I found in the kid's toys section for $2.99 in mint condition (still had the factory protective film on the touch sensor).
  • @TruthWielders
You asked for it : My favorite instrument is the trumpet ! But I love to listen to you playing your best funky bass lines, and the impossible ones with CharlesBerthoud and others, also your challenges are fun to watch ! Thanks !
  • 5:04 sounds like his I put GUITAR STRINGS on BASS… (ILLEGAL FOOTAGE) solo
  • @NickGodzilla

Speaking of strange instruments has Wintergatan's Marble Machine been Checkmated yet? =)
