John Deere 1025R with 48 inch Bush Hog REVERSE in tall stuff

Bush hogging in reverse is done here in some tall weeds. The John Deere 1025R and the Frontier RC2048 rotary cutter are paired for the job.
The 1025R is too small and too low to the ground to simply take off down a strip of very tall, stubborn weeds and plants without giving serious thought to the damage potential to any exposed parts.
Backing over this tough stuff eliminates all worries.
Thanks for watching!

    The RC2048 does a good job - in reverse - w/ blackberry's, too.

Your tractor and bush hog seem like a great combo! I have that same tractor. You really should throttle down to idle before disengaging the PTO, it saves wear on the internal PTO brake.

I drop front loader down real low so it pushes down tall stuff and then I can drive right over it. Little bull dozer per say
  • Any time I brush hog over 2 feet I’d use the bucket to knock down the grass and drive over it forward. Keep the bucket about 6 inches off the ground. That way if ya hit anything your bucket will move it first.

That's a serious machine, my scag would struggle with the leftovers. Did I tell you I hate scag lately? Haha.
