excellent job. As I I've seen on the video the generator is an AC synchronous gen, 12,4 KW, 3~phase, 220V. which is weird. Because all the gens that size produce 480 V if you use a single comando socket or 220V per phase, ( or per winding ) X3 if you use 3 normal domestic plugs. Anyway if that Chinese gen tag reference is correct I am still missing the specs of the flywheel and the motor

I did this years ago, and it does work. It should be pointed out that the yellow device seen here is not an automotive alternator. It is more or less a stand-alone generator. If it were an alternator, it would have to be hooked to a battery for it to work. My project used an automotive blower motor to spin an alternator, which required an automotive battery. Just like with an automotive engine, once you turned on the blower motor, the alternator started putting out 13.5 volts, providing enough amperage to keep the battery charged indefinitely and supply a power inverter to run 110 volt devices. I actually made it to have a power supply for my guitar amplifier down at a river. The one obvious part that would have to be replaced periodically on mine was the battery. They don't last forever.

Reading through the comments it amazes me the amount of people that say this actually works.

I think the contraption will just stop when the energy stored im the flywheel is fully dissipated to friction and other power consuming equiptment. First law of thermodynamics. Energy can not be created of destroyed; it can only be transformed.
