In this video I will be showing you how I trained the fastest animal in the world, well kind of. We have likely all herd of the peregrine falcon, but there are other species of falcon too! Some people argue that the Gyrfalcon is in fact faster than the peregrine. Unfortunately, I do not have a pure gyrfalcon but I do have a Gyr hybrid, so depending who you ask, in this video I show how to fly the fastest animal in the world!
Flying the fastest animal in the world is not easy, while flying a falcon you must know how to swing a lure. This is a challenge in itself and I will not be detailing the exact process of how to lure swing in this video.
Knowing how to fly a falcon, and how to train a bird of prey can be broken down into key steps and stages. Training birds to free fly will differ between every bird and trainer and each step will take different amounts of time and patience, however these are the steps I take when training falcons for falconry displays.
It’s a long video I know, so sit back, relax, and enjoy my video about how to train a falcon!

I'm very impressed by your training technique. As a falconer of 45 years, I appreciate the patience and care you exhibit in this video. Thank you for being so systematic in your approach. I've trained many apprentices in the US who fail to learn how to slowly progress in the art. I enjoyed your video very much.

She is truly magnificent. I do love the predator birds, but I also love their "meals". Have always had rodents etc as pets so not sure I could falcon. But I do appreciate your channel and allowing me to see the process.

Magnificent animal!! I hope that all who gets a chance to see such an animal in their back yard, learn to appreciate them. They represent a healthy ecosystem in all its glory.
