Floating Cloud Live In Spirit Store

Published 2024-07-07
Capturing excellent punk/pop/jazz songs with Floating Cloud in concert for Dundalk FM's 90's bands night. Rock duo and lifelong friends Pete Johnson and Robbie Sharkey have been music collaborators for more than a quarter of a century. They first started playing together in the mid 1990's as Rumble, a high energy punk/indie outfit who put out their debut single "Edge of Nowhere" on Dead Elvis Records in 1995 and then released their debut album "Raped Killed and left for the Buzzards". Rumble was one of the many 90's bands to appear on the legendary First Transmisson CD released in the summer of 1997. At the height of their success they recorded two sessions for The John Peel Radio Show. Everything was looking good for Rumble and with a new record deal with Spanish label Runner Records, they released their second album "Beg Borrow and Steal". The band worked hard to make it big by gigging in Spain, the UK and Ireland, but sadly it was not to be. Since then Pete and Robbie have worked together on various projects including RP3000, Screwball and Violent Mood Swing. Now they are back together with Floating Cloud who have generated hit after hit with their unique charm. Their songs are satisfying, smooth and sharp. Floating Cloud delivers a tour de force of alternative pop songs. There's no stopping Floating Cloud. Onward and upwards. Tracks featured (including three numbers from Rumble) are The Guy in the corner - Donnatella - PimLico - Floating Cloud - Fool - Scumsville - Day Job - One more glass of wine. Filmed on the 29th May, 2024 in the Spirit Store in association with Dundalk FM. The spotlight is now on Floating Cloud.
