Man, I miss regular 6x6 offroad trucks, In early days of snowrunner offroad class was biggest in terms of no. of trucks but now heavy class is biggest & by a big margin.
  • @Skystrike1535
PLAD 450 might be the first heavy class to be a legitimate replacement for many of the off road trucks. Its decently fast despite its size and supports alot of the more used addons with the exception of a low saddle. I still wouldn't take it down narrow trails though. AAC is actually pretty decent too. It can still get stuck in deep mud holes even with the JAT tires, but with its special transmission and always on locks its the first of its kind thats not annoying to drive and slow over less demanding conditions.
  • Wow. The clip showing it not tipping was amazing. Thanks for adding that kind of proof to your explanation. You da man, Nate.
  • @Lethanyr
Great video as always. Wow. Jaw dropped on Plad stability and really nice all around.
  • @Flik_13
Always great videos man, appreciate the hard work and time you put into each one.

I’m just glad we have a new scout that isn’t “just another scout” like the MTB in season 12. The AAW is probably one of the better scouts they’ve added in a while.

The PLAD might be my new favorite heavy, as it fixes the problems inherit with the Derry Special despite lacking the superior MHS2 tires. It's stable and much quicker than the Special which bleeds so much power in wheelspin. Big advantage with always on diffs and why the Special, Tatras, etc.. are slow as mollasses. The weaker tires aren't even a bad thing, keeps it from being OP and with the JATs it walks through death ice like the Zixzs. I've criticized the plethora of "cookie cutter" scouts, but the new one is quite good with the special transmission, S power and always on diffs. One of the strongest light scouts. But like so many others said, we need more medium trucks like the Pike and Mack defense for the sake of variety.

8:06 that’s my favorite testing spot lol there is massive boulders close by the garage easy to get to test the collision mesh in an area everyone can relate to/retest themselves. Sort of a random throw away plus. The spare wheel on the bed makes it a great overloading truck when combined with the crazy stability. I drove around with 3 slate blocks out of the quarry twice and didn’t tip either time. The wheel kinda holds stuff in the back and crane/cab holds it in front making overloading a bit easier. Great video as always Nathan! Keep up the good work.

I find the AAC-58DW extremely efficient. I run with the final engine option and the exclusive "special" gearbox. It feels like it's fuel tank lasts forever, not to mention the roof rack has 2 full refills, as someone who is super picky about fuel consumption this might be my new favorite scout!

Been on a kick watching your videos, got back into Snowrunner kinda heavy lately, finally got the Kenworth 963 (love that rig) and got the Plad unlocked and loving the game all over again. Love your work, and enjoyin spending time plowing around in the trucks. Thank you!
  • @mellowmoo6747
another banger, always find myself smashing that like button on your videos!
  • Finally I've watched all your truck reviews. It gave me fresh new perspectives and I mostly agreed on your opinions. I enjoyed your reviews, so thank you for all the effort you put in it and I'm looking forward for your future videos.
  • I just got Snowrunner a few weeks ago on PS5, I struggled at first but I'm getting the hang of it, just finished Michigan in around 70 hours 😅 Starting to find a lot of resources to help, including this channel, which is helping me understand how the trucks work and how tires work etc. I love driving sims in general but I've really fallen in love with this game, hopefully I'll find plenty of good pointers while digging through this channel. 😊

I tried the Plad today and its very good indeed. Feels very solid and stable, and even if it does not have all the attachments mastodon does, its much shorter and more manoeuvrable. That high saddle sits very high, making this a good candidate for heavy trailer towing, since they wont scrape the ground as much.
  • @fgpraxis4463
Thanks for the review. The Plad seems very capable : 63'' tires, great stability, decent/good power and power to weight, good options. About ground clearance especially front/low but also back and side, i've seen people testing it by using the Cat TH 357 lifter. The Scout AAC seems to be very good at pulling for a scout, one metal beam is heavy (5t) and it did well in your video. That said the tires diameter is quite small (39' ?), that should limit on hard map with lot of deep mud/snow.
  • @MrSteveenn
I want to like the PLAD because it's amazingly capable, especially compared to something like the Derry Special. I just can't stand using it because of the constant clicking/ticking sound that plays at all times. It drives me insane and I swear I've never seen anyone even mention it.
  • @1carusGG
OP as this might be, I really think that this would've been so much nicer with a 3 slot bed. It even looks like there is space for it. I wonder if someone is going to come up with a mod for this. BTW, despite this game being called "Snowrunner", there aren't a lot of Snow maps. I would actually like the devs to give us a few more Amur level maps before they stop development for this game. The last few maps have been either hybrid snow maps or just mud maps with no personality. Amur, Imandra, etc feel like extremely well-designed maps with their own personality.
  • @0ptera
I would've overlooked the PLAD as a Kolob with more addons and roof rack, but seeing that collision model (or rather lack of it) I certainly will use it a fair bit as high saddle hauler. My focus for S13 was on the AAC. A front heavy FWD with high torque and special gearbox makes for a great vehicle to drag Exploration Units or even deliver cargo.
  • @The1stPoV
great video as always. I was a little unsure about the PLAD but I will give it another chance. Def a like from me. Also, Am I the only one who think the Caterpillar TH357 is the best scout vehicle to open maps if the forks are removed? eats up mud better than actual scout trucks. keep up the good work Nathan

Thanks for the review, Nate! One thing I didn't like here: you used to voice over each pro and con by name, here you don't. With me listening to the video more than reading the text, it's easy to miss where one part of the video ends and another starts.
