Surprised that PPGD is still being continued since January

I completely forgot about the 9/11 bit in Grimtales. It kind of got overshadowed in my memory by all the child incest.

I have actually met Bleedman(Vinzon Ngo) several times around the late 2000s. I graduated from the same college and fine arts department he was from. At that time PPGD already peaked and he was cashing in on it. I think he was the most followed artist on Deviantart seconded only by Endling. Needless to say Vinzon is very socially awkward and almost always went about his business alone. It was anybody's best guess why that was the case. The guy's always obscured in the shadows or only tallked to his other elite friends, being that he's a son of a wealthy elite. And it's no secret what he was into. It was something also very commonly talked about among new students in our fine arts department and the alumni who knew who he was before, during, and after his fame. There's no nice way to say it but I don't think anyone really liked him IRL around here. There's also a teacher who's still in the faculty of the fine arts dept who used to work with Vinzon and other ambitious local artists during the peak of PPGD and I vaguely remember his sentiments about it being that most of the artists involved were so arrogant that any effort to collaborate fell into moot. Bleedman being one of the harder people to work with. Take all this with a grain of salt. It's mostly stuff I've seen, and heard from those who were all within a good enough proximity of him.

I did not expect this video to have 9/11 be caused by Mandy from the grim adventures of billy & mandy.

It's likely that the inconsistencies between comic and screen were due to the former being based on earlier drafts of the scripts. You'll see this all the time with movie novelizations or tie-in video games.

the powerpuff girls are certainly iconic, they resemble the shift to a more futuristic and advanced area and style of cartoons

Oh man, I remember reading the PPGD and Grim Tales in high school and wishing I could do comics like that. Then the stuff about Bleedman's...um..." tendencies" came out and uhhhh. Yikes.

I think one of the coolest concepts to cone from the comics was the powerpunk girls. The girls alternate evil selves, honestly im surprised they didnt do more with them
  • @thethingoid
Bleedman is quite a good artist, cartoon pornography not withstanding.

Man early 2000s and 2010s were wild with the toxic romances and loli stuff
  • Hey, don't forget that Roysovitch and Phil-Cho that they made Powerpuff Girls characters of/on Earth-27 artstyle who are now DC characters along with Ghostbusters, Scooby Doo, Hellboy, Mortal Kombat, TMNT, Supernatural, Fables, even Marvel Characters, also PPG were Australians and an actual Townsville in Australia all this time so the girls speak with different Australian accents. Blossom has a cultivated accent, Bubbles has a general accent, and Buttercup has the broad accent. In Earth-27, The Powerpuff Girls were created by Prof. Drake Utonium using the same thing as Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice but they're an actually reborn from Kryptonite, Red, Blue, and Green Kryptonite created the Powerpuff Girls along with Chemical X, Element X/Tenth Metal, and a Motherbox thanks to Prof. Utonium. Due to a combination of the Chemical X and Element X reacting with a Mother Box, so the trio were half-human and half-Kryptonian along with the same powers as Superman except they had their own unique abilities. According to Roysovitch and Phil-Cho, In the original cartoon, the girls are American. Here, they're Australian due to their hometown Townsville being the real city in Queensland, Australia instead of the fictional one in the US. With "sugar, spice, and everything nice" formed the Powerpuff Girls in a ASIS propaganda commercial; in reality, a monstrous abomination birthed the girls, who adopted Professor Utonium as their father. Named Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, they had vague memories of being part of an alien Motherbox, giving them knowledge and fighting skills — not to mention some kickass superpowers. When the police arrested their daddy Drake Utonium for suspicion of terrorism, he convinced the girls to let him surrender. The girls later proved their loyalty to the good people of Australia by defeating Mojo Jojo and his terrors in Townsville. In exchange for Utonium's cooperation, ASIS pardoned Utonium and branded the girls as Australian heroes, "The Powerpuff Girls".

I currently own a few of the DC comics as I was a ppg collector growing up. My favorite one will always be the 50th one, introducing the PowerPunk Girls. So many people thought they were fan made characters. My favorite lore about this particular issue was that they were originally gonna be adapted into the series. But the movie scrapped the idea, and instead they got their comic story!
  • @mr.end-game711
from what I heard Power Puff Girls will be getting a new comic series from Dynamite comics along with other Hanna Barbara properties. Still haven't seen any cover or heard of a release date.

I was seven months old when the powderpuff girls came out. But I watched them a lot when I was five. Even watched the movies in theaters. As for Bleedman, I remember seeing his art when I first started using DeviantArt back in 2014. I honestly loved his art and comics. But it’s very surprising how much controversy he’d gotten for his work. Like damn. Another artist who’s a creep.
