Harvard University English Professor Stephanie Burt reveals why she is teaching a course on ‘Taylor Swift and Her World’.

“What we’re doing mostly is looking at how the songs work, why they work, how the words go with the music,” Professor Burt told Sky News Australia.

“Why they are so moving and so effective and what connection they make not just to other Taylor songs … but to other kinds of often older or other literary works.”

She said it can be considered a “literature course”.

“At this level of popularity, it’s sometimes a mystery how someone becomes this big, but we can say why does her work speak to so many people.”
