The Gospel of Thomas is one of the key texts concerning the teachings of Jesus Christ but is often regarded as too gnostic and radical since it has a more mystical and interior focus. Some scholars speculate that it may have been the Q source for the four Gospels, whereas others dispute that and claim it is of a later origin. In any case, it is a remarkable work.

  • "When you make the two into one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner, and the upper like the lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the female be female, when you make eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand, a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image, then you will enter the Kingdom". Be on guard to maintain the fire inside shine brightly. Change your ways when they are found to be the predicament and in contradiction with the fire within which is meant to shine brightly.

The Gospel of Thomas can only be understood through personal experience. It is an experiential writing. The differences are wide between Thomas and the four canonical gospels. In Thomas anyone can enter the Kingdom. They must seek within on a deep level. But they must seek until they find. And what do they SEEK? Eternal life. What must you have in order to live? "He who has FOUND the body is superior to the world." Oh, the wonder of it ALL.

The funny thing is it hard to even seek out how many versions of the texts there are what is called The New Testament-considering the over 10k variants in Greek alone. It all comes down to a self agreeing being that finds alignment with the external way; regardless of where it comes from. Tanakh was in 24 books, but it was said that there were 100 consecutive generations of Israelite prophets-83 are named in tradition.

John 1:4 God's Word is the Inner Child. John 14:10 Not about Jesus. About God. John 14:26 Learn from God yourself. Col. 3:9-11 God's Kingdom. John 6:45 God's Goal.

    Can’t understand half of it
  • I loved what this book taught me. It was like a Rosetta stone as a collection from different places. Even the "Pharisee is like a dog in the Manger," is derived from Aesop's Fables, "The Dog in the Manger." Five trees in Paradise, (Mental space) date all the way back to the five beams in Marduk's head from Babylonian works. What an exciting find and rare combination of various sources in one collection. You can see someone was working on it.
  • I'm just a youngin getting into all this but curious about people's opinion on Jesus speaking in Matthew 15:11 about "what goes into a person's mouth isn't what defiles them. It's what comes out of a person's mouth that causes that person to be spiritually unclean". I know Jesus is important in both the Bible and Quran but I don't understand how to interpret the contradictions about haram foods
  • Just about every translation of saying 70 is different from Elaine Pagels’. I wonder why?

Can anyone explain 102 I understand the mother who gave birth to Jesus Christ but who the false mother

Neo-Gnosticism: - Early writings written by apostles and/or wittnesses close to the events: * Verdict: Not true. And/or later changed by the evil Church. Or something. - Late writings written by anonymous writers from one to four centuries after the events unfolded, borrowing the same apostle names to their writings for credibility since these writers didn't have any cred of their own, inventing things that obviously never happened * Verdict: Yep, we believe this. And the Church must be evil since it doesn't applaud us...
  • Look, at the end of the day... We're not putting new wine into old wineskins. And that's just the way it's gotta be.
  • @jimx45
If there was such a thing as Jesus his teachings were that of gnosticism not anything the church is saying right now. And I'm not talking about the body of Christ church but the church that is spreading lies for resources and money tribute.
  • First of all you don't know if that's true about male and female that's your perspective on it but let the holy spirit guide those people that hear the gospel and the truth people that put their 2 cents and and tell us what they say is not the same as the holy Spirit guiding us and you don't know if it's really male or female or if it's got something to do with the mind so don't do that
