The Yankees need to do whatever they can to keep Stanton in the outfield. The guy has been on fire since the move to the outfield.
  • @robertaxel
I don't have problems with any of those 5, it would be an addition by subtraction. I do agree that Gardy always gives his all, and deserves a special day....
  • The runner up when Boone got the job. Hensley “Bam Bam” Muelens. Former Yankee with 3 WS Rings with the SF Giants as a hitting coach, managed the Netherlands in the WBC twice. Speaks 5 different languages. Talk about a guy who will take a team that is ready to win. The guy has the experience they need

Since this new core emerged in 2017, the Yankees are 9-2 in the post season against A.L. Central opponents and 9-13 against everyone else. They haven’t won a post season series against a non-AL Central since the 2012 ALDS against the Orioles.

Boone, the entire coaching staff, and especially Cashman all need to be shown the door this winter. But I think the real root of the problem is Hal. Hal doesn't care about winning championships. He only cares about the bottom line. As long as the Yanks stay competitive enough to make money, he's happy. Say what you want about The Boss and all his faults, but he had a burning desire to win the World Series every year. Hal isn't fit to wear his daddy's turtleneck.

Gallo needs to be in here, epitome of not having a clutch bone in his entire body! Also, how can you lead the league in strikeouts AND walks.... how do you see the ball well enough to walk but cannot hit it... ever. All his homeruns are solo shots, and he does this weird thing where he starts to throw his bat away as if he has just walked when clearly hes about to be punched out (because it was clearly strike 3) and it drives me nutssss.

Yankees ever since they won the series in 09 have had an uphill battle, as teams continue to get better year in and year out our team settles for just making the playoffs. It doesn't get any easier nowadays, even if they beat Boston last night the rays have been a thorn in their side for at least 3 seasons now, and if they made it to the alcs you may have to face houston who knocked them out the last 2 times they faced them! The path to the series just seems way to difficult for this team and its sad to see that no team is intimated by the Yankees anymore 😢

I love to see Mattingly as the manager. He has done great things with the dodgers and the marlins. Why not have one of greatest Yankees back as the manager!
  • @ryantouhey1997
I’d like to see Paul O’Neill get a shot at managing. I know he has no prior experience but I think he’d do much better than Boone and bring back more of a traditional NL style of baseball to the table. Plus he's a competitor and hates to lose
  • @edwinsoto9141
I would also put Gleber Torres, Fraizier, German and Andujar on the market and see if we can get some decent pitching with them.
  • @unspokensoles
I'll gladly take Yes Network's own, Buck Showalter, over Booney.
  • @Bullsbrew551
I totally agree with getting rid of Aaron Hicks always injured and when he does play bats 190. Plus he cannot throw anymore from having Tommy John.
  • @emperorjack8946
Cashman, boone, Marcus, niven, hicks are the Yankees personnel I don't want back.
  • @trueempire8948
A lot of changes need to be made but I would definitely like to see us replace Gallo, Sanchez, Volt and Hicks for 4 new quality at bats to ad to our rotation. I don’t Blame Boone as much I do Cashman he put this team together
  • @emiliopelaez607
I agree with your assessment of Boone being handed a team with such a great roster that has zero managing experience. I was not in favor of that move, and would’ve preferred to see him go last year, to be honest.
  • Great job this year. Always enjoy your game recaps and overall insight. This was a great video summarizing some important moves that need to happen in the off season for this team to be better next year. Unfortunately, the door to the World Series on this core group of Yankees has closed. Maybe your next list can be the top 5 replacements for Aaron Boone? (wishful thinking).

I’ll add a few to the wishlist. 6. Joey Gallo. To his credit, he managed to put the bat on the ball in 3 of his 4 at-bats in the Wild Card game but in the regular season, he’s a black hole of strikeouts. 188 ABs as a Yankee and 88 K’s. 47% of his Yankee at-bats ended with him turning around and walking slowly back to the dugout. No amount of walks and good defense makes up for that. 7. Rougned Odor. To his credit, he played better then I think anyone could have expected him to after he joined the Yankees. But the Yankees have an interesting predicament: Gleyber Torres will never be the shortstop of the New York Yankees again. Full stop. Do they go into next season with DJ LeMahieu at third and Gio Urshela at short? They could but from an offensive looking standpoint, that seems kind of average at best. If the Yankees add non-first base infielder (Corey Seager? Marcus Semien?), LeMahieu gets moved to the bench, Tyler Wade sticks around by virtue of the fact that he can play short in a pinch and Odor finds himself out of a job. And honestly, he didn’t do enough to keep it anyway. You don’t go into a season with a guy who hits around .200 and only really has the arm to play second base penciled into a backup role. There’s just not enough room on the roster for that guy.
