Love to see these old ALCo's still in use. REAL locomotives that look, sound and smoke as one expects a locomotive to do.
  • Alco went out of business like 50 years ago, but look they still run great. It may be the best engine ever made.

True to its heading, this is a good collection of hardcore smoking locos with the signature chugging sounds of WDM 3 Old Diesel Locos. The shot of the train over the bridge at 8:33 minutes with the noise of the train over the bridge and chugging sound of the loco is superb.

They need triple turbos on these things, this is insane. Amazing the pistons don't melt down!!

I love the chugging sound those alcos put out, and I love the smell the motors put out when they get put to work. Awesome compilation.

I often travel by train. I love the sound when train changes track at high speed and realise we are all on the mercy of engineers.

A technological masterpiece - I my self have absolutely no idea how to make the loco smoke so much:)
  • Exellent & love it and reminds me of my great train journeys from the 60's till today..miss those great steam engines we used to travel from North & West India to our south west coast in our child hood & later these great bullish smoking Alcos..till date we prefer to travel by 🚆 trains rather take an flight or bus..love my great Indian railways..😍💪🙏💐

Really fantastic video! I am an American railfan and I am thrilled to know that Alco's are still produced in India and are alive and well!! I intend to come visit India and ride behind some of these wonderful engines myself! Thanks for this great video! Added to my favorites.
  • I always get goosebumps on seeing superfast express trains (especially in small open village station)

Thanks for the video, i used to drive old ALCo's over 20 years ago and if maintained they would burn clean once past the turbo lag stage. If you look at this video most of the shots are when the engines are still getting their boost pressure up and the turbo is still trying to catch up. So this is not a true indication of how they can actually burn clean after they settle down in notch 8. Also big difference is that these engines are accelerating fast due to the leaving passenger stops while most in other parts of the world were used for slow grinds with heavy freights and would sit at notch 8 for long periods of time. Another thing was that the Southern Pacific in the USA was served a notice about the pollution that their PA's produced when departing stations in CA, so really its a trait that has been around since ALCo's were first run off the production line. Just an observation

Hell hardcore chugging & smoking of Indian ALCO locomotives... All chain smokers sit on ALCO locomotive will quit smoking, also smokers will get nightmares after watching ALCO locomotive smoking..... Nice video, the show must go on......
  • I seriously wish our locomotives in the United States would STILL roll coal like this because it's SO DAMN COOL!

Right at the end when the loco passed under you, I really could hear the Alco rumble. Thanks for sharing.
  • @zimmlock
