The cost of living in Japan is actually a lot cheaper than either Australia or New Zealand these days. If you don't need to live in central Tokyo you can get excellent deals on real estate. In fact, due to the housing crisis there are some places you can get a house for free.

I remember the early 70's when food was so cheap,in fact everything was cheap. My mum raised 7 mad kids on her own on a pension or a part time job as head waitress.Milk was 4 cents/pint.
  • Other countries like America and Australia, Europe have more variety where to shop and any exports for them are cheaper but where we are less expensive is we have more free leasure activities that alot of countries you have to pay for.but the touristy extreme things are expensive.renting aint as cheap as this video says in Australia even in the suburbs.the closer to any cbd you get in a major city you pay the moon .But i agree why do we pay more for our own products but you can get it cheaper in other countries it makes no sense especially in the dairy industry. The farmers don't have the competition to get a better price from supermarket chains that the less competition in the supermarket and all the other things means higher prices for things to build houses infrastructure and food causes most of thoses items we need to do that we have to export them.thats why its expensive.its just the lack of competition and the exploitation of supermarket in nz causes of the lack of competition where as in other countries have more options and less costs for exports as we are the furthest country to export to so going by that where not that much expensive.

Living in Australia is much better in general and you have access to more job opportunities. Also hidden costs are cheaper in Oz, e.g. A can at 27K in OZ (similar area and garage lockable NZ/OZ) was about $850, NZ charges a staggering $1700.

  • John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
