Today I'm testing out the Hyvance Smart Egg Cooker, and trying out all 6 settings to see if it can actually perfectly fry an egg with the push of a button.

I mean technically it is one of the better egg cookers you've tested
  • @bradasstv
Wouldn't be Freakin' Reviews without some egg gadgets! LFG! 😜😜
  • @yugnok
Might be good in the morning when you are rushing to get ready for work. Throw an egg in, get coffee going, get dressed, grab food, out the door.

These devices are very good for people with limited mobility who cannot stand at a stove and cook in a conventional way. Have shown my patients with limitations the smaller waffle maker, egg steamer, Geo. Foreman grills, and the breakfast sandwich maker. One or more of these devices have improved their quality of life.

I can definitely see the merit of a gadget like this. I often have a single egg with a meal. It's all about attention span. It's easy to cook an egg but you've got to watch it the whole time and possibly flip it. To just not be able to think freeze you up to prepare other food items. I use a mini frying pan and a lid but you have to watch it that whole time.

Bailey always wants dibs on the food

"Guaranteed Results!" "Good results?" "Let's not get too cocky"

Ad a more accurate timer, the ability to select egg size and a preheat function along with "current temp sensing" and this thing will be awesome. As is it's a $25 gadget.
  • @OneWildTurkey
Unless you let the unit cool down to the same temp between uses, the extra heat to start with may be making the difference in how well it works. The price - puts it outside what I'm willing to pay. I've already got a microwave, so I got some microwave egg cookers that were $6 each and they let me select how well done the eggs are by the timer and power setting on the microwave. If I want poached eggs, I put a little water in the bottom and if I want fried eggs I put a little oil in the bottom. They turn out just right every time. And they're dishwasher safe. Almost forgot - Great channel!

Looks useful, but $40 is quite expensive for what it does
  • I'm with the crowd that likes the no splatter, no mess minimal cleanup aspect but also think it is way, way overpriced. I'll wait for the used ones to appear and for the inevitable knockoffs... yolk /yōk/noun The yellow internal part of a bird's egg, which is surrounded by the white, is rich in protein and fat and nourishes the developing embryo.
  • It may be ok if you don't want to learn to cook an egg but, was the first thing I taught my child to do at a very young age. Cleaning a small non-stick is way easier to clean then a gadget., but still, I love watching Freakin' Reviews all the time. The best of, the best and worst items testing show.

Eggs aren't particularly hard to cook and I'm not generally a fan of gadgets taking up counter space, especially not single-purpose ones, but I'm also blind and like how easy this makes it to just prep an egg.
  • @gnawtsatyr8865
I like that product. That's a perfect way to get an egg or two cooked for an egg salad sandwich. It's flat so it's easy to chop up. There's no waiting for water to boil nor peeling of eggs after an ice bath. The egg white doesn't look fried. Minimal cleanup. If you just want an egg to snack on for a hangover it seems perfect. I want to buy this right now tbh. Seems like 3:13 is the perfect cook time for a poached style egg. This is a dream for a busy morning breakfast sandwich. I bet you can toast a muffin (already stuffed with ham and cheese) in there right before or after the egg and hit the road in a pinch. I'm getting hungry...

I’m not sure why everyone’s so angry about this. Yes, $40 is pricey…maybe catch it on sale somewhere but if I lived in a dorm or somewhere else where I didn’t have a stove but could get away having an old school toaster and this, I’d be fixing my own breakfast every day! Would definitely pay for itself after a few days of skipping McDonald’s or Starbucks breakfast sandwiches! It actually cooked the eggs pretty close to the described settings even though 1/2 runny probably means over medium in the US and 1/5 runny probably means over hard in the US. I think after a few trial runs, you could find your ideal setting. Also, I liked the set it and forget part. Crack an egg in there, close the lid, push the button and continue getting ready for school/work. I have a stove and know how to cook eggs so I wouldn’t buy one but I could see this being a good solution for some people.
  • @TheNetsrac
I paid around $50 for a good quality hybrid pan, which is useful for a lot stuff other than just frying eggs. Like most of these kitchen gadgets, it's a one trick pony (and it doesn't really do it that well) Straight to the boneyard imo Thank you for another good video PS I hope you all have a nice weekend
  • @MNTNSTARZ80.
My friend has one of these and makes omelets and pancakes in it too. She had to play around with amounts and the settings but finally got it right. She sent it to college with her son and he loves it.
  • @Chris.Batchelor
Clicked on this and didn’t realize it just dropped haha.
  • @Thirdbase9
I've never ordered or cooked a half or fifth runny egg. Over easy, over medium, over hard, and a few others
