"Morning Phase" kind of reminds me of "Sea Change"; slow, mellow, great for road trips to the beach. Can't wait for his next album, which he's said will be funky and upbeat.

I discovered Beck in 1994. And I've been a HUGE fan ever since. Hands down beck is a GENUIS! TOTAL MUSICAL GENIUS. man what a songwriter!!!

This albums being in G leads into the last song in minor and its the perfect and sad ending, waking life. This came out around the time of the passing of my Grandmother Rose. My daughter and I would listen to it regularly while my grandmother was ill. It's forever etched into my mind whenever i think about her passing. Also my mother would always tell me you can't go wrong with a good piece of ground just out side of town, which fits this song as well. She must have told me that many times in my life when referring to farms and the people she knew that lived on them.

One great album. Every song has gutts.
