Hello friends,

Welcome to the new job searching series! Tech recruiting is long and can be a really physical and emotional ride. I hope that through documenting both the highs and lows of my journey, I can accompany and give encouragement to those of you in a similar situation.

I'm not sure how long this series will be (probably until I get an offer 😂) so I hope you stick around 💗

xx,
Julia

Hi friends ~ thank you for your patience and support during this time 🫶 I’m so excited to document this journey and share it with you all! I’m really leaning towards starting a discord server where we can share resources & build a tighter community. Let me know if that sounds interesting to you! In the meantime, you can always find me here or on insta: www.instagram.com/julia.fei?igsh=dXN5aTd1bXRndWRj&… Sending all my love

what helped me get my current job in banking is reaching out to the recruiter that is on the linkedin listing directly and send them a message introducing myself, telling them i applied for the role, and that I would be interested in learning more about it. They replied within HOURS and we had a call the next day. Four interviews later I had the job!

Refreshing that you don’t solely want to be a content creator and want to continue to use your professional talents. It’s strategically the smart thing to do. Continued success!

The last portion made me so teary. We are also three girls in the family (I am in the middle hehe) but we all live in different parts of the world now. Miss my sisters so much 🫶 and happy birthday to your dad and your sister! May they always be healthy and happy!

SO refreshing to see "youtubers" get actual jobs and not resign to be a "full time creator" 😢

I stumbled upon your channel, perhaps a week or two ago, through your video about quitting your job as a data scientist. I almost never comment on videos (I am a certified lurker), but your introspective thoughts about your career, health, and other aspects of your life really resonated with me. I really appreciated how genuine and honest you were about what you were going through - I imagine that being vulnerable, especially on a public platform like YouTube, can't be easy. I hope you get to take your time to enjoy a well-deserved break (especially without the Sunday scaries!!) as you start this new chapter of your life! Looking forward to following along as a new subscriber. :)

Don’t get discouraged. Took me 2 months to land another job. You can do it!❤

I loved the end part of your vlog. As someone who grew with three sisters, the chaotic siblings energy whenever we are together is unmatched lol. Love that 😂
  • Not me waving to your dad! What a wonderful vlog- and well done, as always! Thank you for sharing so much great info. Btw- also useful for resume creation (and cover letters!) is a bank of experiences crafted to highlight one thing that you can cut and paste into those custom resumes and cover letters- write once, use often! Enjoy your search- and don't forget the career services office of your alma mater...
  • Wishing you all the best on finding a new job! So sweet and warm seeing the sisterhood bonding!
  • @danjas.599
the chaos of you and your sisters is just amazing! good luck with your search <3

So sweet to see you and your sisters together 🥲 Makes me miss my family so much!

What made this video was the wholesome moment you had with your sisters in wishing your dad happy birthday. It's very heartwarming to see others having fun and spending time with loved ones. Happy birthday to your father and sis. I hope you land your dream job.

Love these tips, Julia! Looking forward to following along with you and your journey❤
  • I'm so happy to see that you love so much tech and the field of data science that u don't wanna quit this world and become a full-time content creator! This journey (to find a new job) is not easy, but I'm so glad that you're showing how it's going for you. We're cheering for u! Many huuugs~

The best jobs I've had <2 dream ones included-- most people dont get one, I feel so lucky to have had 2!> were offered to me by my friends suggesting me to their friends. I will not be surprised if your next job comes to you that way. All of my kids got their happiest jobs exactly that way..people we knew recommending us to people they knew. I didnt even give a resume to anyone who asked me to join their firm! Its a "who you know" world.
  • Great you all got together for your dad's birthday.keep positive the right job will turn up when it's meant to for you
  • You are so young and you are already so wise. All these important changes you are making in your thought processes about life will serve you as an incredible foundation as you get older. I wish I would have had handled my life a little better when I was your age. no regrets I appreciate all the trials that made me the person I am today. Continue to persevere and be patient. Blessings to you.
