Pool Hack Alert: How to Easily Add Dry CYA to Your Above Ground Pool

The package direction for adding the dry cyanuric acid (CYA) is to add it into the skimmer or at the deeper end of the pool which most above ground pool owner does not have. So, if you are an above ground pool owner and you simply throw in the granules into your pool, you will end up with undissolved granules in your above ground pool. You can try to brush them but this will take forever to do as the granules will start floating once you begin brushing.
Using the sock method will contain the granules until it is ready to be mixed into the water. The longer you have the granules submerged into the water, the faster it will mix into the water. You can also placed it next to the water outlet and just leave it there overnight.

Thank you so much😊 Without this I would be waiting for 20 years😂😂

Never put any chemicals in the skimmer. You are going to destroy the impellers. They are not designed for full strength chemical just diluted one
-
Better yet, sock it or pantyhose/nylons and put it in the skimmer. 1/2 hour later its dissolved completely.

Thanks great tip but that bot a old sock 😂

One guy at Leslie's told me to pour it straight into the skimmer. Anything wrong with that? I have an above-ground saltwater pool.

Do not use your bare hand with these chemicals
