  • I have one of this myself, decided to get the AHD cameras for the front and back and have the front triggered with mode like you do. Honestly, AHD cameras look so good with these head units as they support them it’s basically crisp. I find it useful when parking at night at dimly lit places

Love the wireless CarPlay on this, I have one myself 😉
  • @yakeetywinkle
Thanks for the video. How has the unit held up so far? Any issues? Thanks
  • @TheJohnnyTato
You just jumped the video man Thanks for the video step by step would be great next time
  • Great review Brandon! The wireless apple carplay is such an enticing feature! I noticed that when I purchased a wireless carplay dongle, there would be a delay in audio when switching tracks on Carplay. Does the same thing happen with this radio unit?
  • Thanks for sharing this with us. It’s so great that this has been documented. If you ever get PH’s families blessing, I would 100% pay for a print of the titanic.

@BrandonStellmach I have a Corolla 2011 and want to give it to my son. I was looking around to replace the Head Unit and found your video. I really like the look of the IDoing units. I have a couple of questions. 1) Does the IDoing unit work with the built in mic that is at the top middle front of the car close to the review mirror? I find this mic to pretty good. 2) Does the Idoing unit work with the AUX USB port that is already in the car? 3) I saw that someone posted a link to 3D print a USB Switch Hole cover, did you try it? I noticed that I have a blank on the right side of the AUX USB port. Might be a good idea it that could be used. Thanks for the Video.

Thanks for another great video Brandon! I was using a 8 inch winCE DVD radio in my 09 Corolla which worked great but I wanted apple carplay so I now have the binize that you had but the sound quality is so low compared to the WinCE radio. You mentioned the sound quality on this radio is way better. If you could compare both radios at max volume, would you say it would be worth it for me to invest in this?
  • For the USB routing, you could have someone 3D print a bracket for your car. There's several STLs I've found.
  • @locorudy626
Good video. My guess with your reverse is it's not being triggered on the radio. Look for a rev cable on the head unit and the reverse camera retention harness should have an RCA and a signal cable that triggering the reverse on the radio. From looking at you crimping the harness I'd say do the touch test with the bare wire while the car is in reverse, also do it while the car is on some cars are weird like that. Or try an alternative reverse trigger to the head unit.

Hey Brandon i am curious before I buy this is there a Jack port for the aerial in the back of those?
  • @Omar-lt4vg
Nice, was looking at the Bose BCPA9RC for my Corolla 2009. Do you think the idoing is a better option?
  • @meldri2805
Brandon in your video the finished product has a very nice tapered trim piece that allows the screen to stick out very slightly from the flush mounted original radio. When I click on the link you provided the picture looks like the screen has a different trim piece around the screen. I'd like to order this unit, but I like the trim around the screen in your video better than what they show on their web site. Do you know if they made a change since then? Thanks for your help!
  • @edwincruz8566
Great job! I love it man! When you install that radio did you have to install anything for the steering wheel controls? Cuz I'm thinking about getting audio controls and that radio so it can work in my 2010 Toyota Corolla.
  • Great video…! I have just started to use Apple CarPlay on this head unit…but I have to press the Carlink 2.0 app every time the head unit starts. Did you find a way for the app to start on boot automatically or you do it manually too?
