  • The key to learning a language is to take a lot of small steps and to be consistent. It's also important to have reasonable expectations and not to compare yourself to other speakers. If you're just starting out and already trying to "sound like a native", you will most likely lose confidence and motivation. Make a record of your progress and feel good about how far you have come. Language is a tool for communication and not a science.
  • One thing to remember: Be patient with your progression, not everyone learns a language at the same pace, and most important, enjoy the experience!
  • I am native Arabic, know Turkish and English, while I am trying to study Persian and Norwegian at the same time. You are totally right on the huge similarities between Turkish and Persian. Actually Arabic, Persian and Turkish have well amounts of common words. However be aware of the same words different meaning, they are the hardest. Love from Türkiye 🇹🇷

Thank you for talking about your struggles, Zoe! With all the polyglots and Youtube and their "magical" methods it's easy to forget that learning languages is a neverending hard work with its ups and downs, and to get discouraged when one doesn't make progress very quickly or has difficulties. It really helps to see that others are struggling too and that those difficulties can and will be overcome with hard work :) Thank you and have a lovely day!

As a Korean/English/Japanese speaker, I really understand that learning languages at the same time require discipline. Currently I am learning more languages but sometimes I still struggle finding the motivation to study. I like that you always give us tips that are realistic and help us to keep on track! Keep up the good work 👍
  • I have been learning Spanish for about two years and English for about a year. I'd like to start learning French, but I think, maybe , I should focus on improving my English before. I have been spending a lot of time on studying English because I listen a lot every day. It is so hard for me. But your videos inspire me to do better , thanks.
  • Proud of you gurl❤️‍🔥 Persian is my mother tongue and I’ve been studying English recently. When I realized I may have been forced to study German simultaneously, I really got nervous. Watching your video made me think that I can give it a try. Thanks 🥹 You can talk to me if you needed native Persian speaker btw haha.

I loved it when you said Walah و الله. And thank you so much for the valuable information. I never watch a video on languages and thought that the content is valid and realistic. 😘😘😘😘 Keep going 🤗🤗

Thank you for your advices .As someone who studies multiple languages at once. This is very helpful.

Having different priority levels for the languages is great advice! I'm thinking of starting to learn another language as my Greek learning feels like it's stagnating and probably just needs to improve through simple usage, but I wasn't sure how I could combine another language when I don't have that much time. But I can just make Greek a language I acquire passively through just using it, while the new one I will be my priority for as long as I still need to learn its basics. Now to find a language I'm enthusiastic to learn

As someone who grew up with multiple languages and cultures, understanding more than one language is a bit of a norm for me, but I do really want to be fluent in all of them. I natively speak English, speak a fair amount of Portuguese, and understand a lot of Persain. French and Arabic are also on my list to learn the basics of some day, and your videos truly inspire to keep at it and not give up, so thank you for that! :)
  • Your transparency is much appreciated. I admire your dedication and discipline. Keep posting vids please, Zoe. ❤️

I've been watching a lot of your videos but this one was definitely the most helpful. I'm currently in Japan but it has been very challenging to find time to maintain my Spanish while I prioritise Japanese. Thank you for the tips.

I have to come back to you everytime now that I lost in language learning. My progress really slow and it‘s like fall through one after another. Well consistency is the prominent keys here. Wish me luck!
  • Hello, Zoe, from Armenia. Your videos are so helpful. Now I'm trying to improve my English, learning Korean and want to start learning Spanish. So this video is really supportive. Thank you very much.

Actually when you can speak French , English is easier to learn. And when you can speak both English and French ,Spanish is easier to learn. If you can speak Spanish, Italian and Portuguese become easier.
