We asked our Patreon community what song they wanted us to learn next and they voted for "Annie's Song"! Katie did such a lovely job with the arrangement, and singing this song brings back so many memories of growing up camping and playing music around a campfire.

Hope you enjoy our rendition of this John Denver classic!

►LYRICS - Annie's Song
You fill up my senses
Like a night in the forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again

Come let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter
Let me die in your arms
Let me lay down beside you
Let me always be with you
Oh come let me love you
Come love me again

You fill up my senses
Like a night in the forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again

(La, la-la, la, laaa, laaa....)

Let me lay down beside you
Let me always be with you
Oh come let me love you
Come love me again
Oh come let me love you
Come love me again

The appeal of this family band spans the generations and the globe. I'm based in the UK. I'm a fan; my kids are fans, particularly as we sing and play guitar together as a family at home. An incredibly talented family and always a genuine pleasure to listen to.
  • From a grumpy old man who lives way across the pond in the UK, you guys really have a beautiful thing going on there but, please, please, please tell your mum to stop hiding away at the rear, she’s the concrete that cements the bond between you all, she’s very much the most important part of who you guys are.

Song writer, singer, string instruments master. The Petersens never cease to amaze me ❤

I'm an old guy so I've loved this song for a long time. I heard it as a man's song because John Denver, Katie changed my mind. It's on my list of favorites now. Please never quit, we need all the beautiful music you kids care to make.
  • @cliffsunn
Katie has some wonderful smooth vibrato and let us not forget,Mum on bass is holding this group together as a solid rhythm section
  • This was sung at my wedding 47 years ago by a good friend. My husband passed away 6 years ago--I miss him so much!!!
  • Why do I always feel better after a Petersens' video? Never mind, I'm just happy that I do.
  • Katie really shines on both vocals and fiddle, and now I see she did the arrangement as well! Hope all those who requested this song are as pleased as I am.
  • I feel like John Denver would be honored to have them sing his song.
  • I learned Annie’s song when I was 17, at the senior year of the prestigious Nunziatella Military School in Naples, Italy. I loved it so much, that I sang it on stage during Christmas Show that traditionally is held for families. I should have known: Anna (the Italian version of Ann) was the name of my grand-grandmother, my grandmother, my mother…Guess what? My wife’s name - I met her fifteen years after that Show - is Anna. So the name and the song are really near to my heart. Having you guys and ladies executing it in such an heartfelt way is a blessing. I really love you all, thank you for all the wonderful music.
  • Singing while fiddling, what a talent that girl is! The whole band is exceptional.
  • There must be a million ways to tell someone that you love them. This is definitely one of the best ways anyone has ever come up with. VERY well done 👍
  • @m0j0rising
Never really have been a big bluegrass fan, but I adore this family and come back regularly to hear them work their magic....
  • @RachaelGenX
My daddy used to sing this song all the time.
He left this world in December 2018. He would love this
  • @essengeebee
I saw The Petersens play this live tonight! I feel incredibly blessed to be able to have seen their performance and to briefly meet them after the show. They are all very warm and friendly people. I think the reason I love their music so much is that they pour so much love into it.

This is hands down the best rendition of this song in the world. Your playing is sublIme, such a talented & beautiful family
  • @addjem
What a warmth in the voice that envelops me. And what I also love about your arrangements is that you support the voices with the instruments and don't drown them out. So they can also "tell" the song in a real way.
  • @worldlyconcerns
What a lovely arrangement, what precise, understated musicianship, what a beautiful voice. This is very fine, thank you.
