Net metering is simply a policy that dictates how much the utilities are going to pay you for your solar, a policy that is about to change.
In this video, we do a little bit of a history lesson and talk about where net metering comes from. We will talk about the evolution of this policy and provide you with the latest information about the new NEM 3.0 and how it is going to affect your life.
The third version of this policy is tentatively scheduled to go into effect next April 14, really hammering down the fact that, if you want to put solar on your house now is the time.
If you're looking for the fastest return on investment, get your money back as fast as possible, get your solar, and now get it in before April. And if you don't mind waiting a little bit longer and having added a backup battery then you can add your solar after April. In fact, if you were thinking about getting batteries anyway, this really isn't going to affect you.
