Liz has been filming me building kayaks for 6 years, this time we switched places so she could build one herself for the first time! In this video Liz is building our F1 kayak design. This is one of four different kayaks we offer. It comes in 7 different sizes to fit paddlers from 100 to 250 lbs and weighs about 30lbs in the medium size.

Find plans for this kayak, our other kayak and canoe designs, and instructional video courses on how to build them at cape-falcon-kayak.thinkific.com/

  • Absolutely beautiful poetry in motion...no annoying music, or ridiculous voice over...True craftsmanship at its finest ❤🎉
  • …no music, no ranting voiceover, no hype just beautiful, patient craftwork from start to finish. Ahhhh. Perfect

I built a kayak when I was 15. I 'scrounged' the wood from building sites, at 1am. My father got me canvas and screws from his workplace. My mate also constructed a similar one. We spent a week canoeing from Oxford to Putney along the Thames. One of the memorable things in my youth. 😊

Wait...what?....wow! Holy cow! As a woodworker for 30 years I often search you tube for skilled vids. This is potentially one of the best I've ever seen! To any one and everyone involved in this construction, I hope you fall asleep with a little pride at night. You should. Skills like this are rare. ❤️ Liked, Subscribed!
  • Truly wonderful! Thank you both for taking the time to build, film, edit and post this video.

  • Very nice kayak. My father and I used to build cedar strip canoes, it ended up being his favorite thing to do, this pots reminded me of the fun we had building then and cedar strip kayaks and floating rivers in Canada and anywhere we could .thanks for the everything. I miss him so

Sublime….as a woodworker and artist, I really appreciate and enjoyed this, brilliantly filmed and edited.
  • I saw this was 17 minutes long and I thought, hmm, mybe I'll just skip through parts of it. So I started watching at the beginning and 17 minutes later I found that I had watched all of it without skipping anything, lol. :D Lovely video. If you ever give up making boats you should definitely go into some type of video editing business. All of your videos are top-notch. Well done all.

Absolutely fantastic stuff! Seeing it placed in the water at the end was magical.
  • I think I would like the frame to hang in my home. Nice piece of functional art.
