There are probably hundreds of videos that claim they’ll teach you how to quiet your mind. Most just say to ignore the chatter. This is one of the very few that actually delivers. Thank you, Ajahn Brahm. 🙏
  • This monk explains mediation a hell of a lot better than the psychiatist/psychologist/neuroscientists I just listened too.

these ways of educating need to be incorporated in schools. especially the United States. bless those children.. lol

Ajahn Bram’s method of silencing the mind works for me. After doing meditation for some time already, the endless and compulsive inner chatter isn’t as bad as before. I wasn’t thinking of what he is going to say next. I also chant mantra slowly depending on the conditions of my mind. Thank you Ajahn Bram for pointing out the gap in between each thought. 🙏

The only thing that worked for me. Tried so many different techniques, including breathing. Didn't work, until I started doing mantras and putting space between words. Thank you

I am a 74 year old man, humbled by a massive hemorrhagic stroke in 2008. It is joyously fascinating to me that, at this point in my life, what I apparently need to learn is the simplest of things.

when he first did the pushing mechanism, i began to laugh after. silence is so beautiful and reassuring!!!
  • I never understood mantra. I was just repeating it again and again without pause trying to prevent the room for my mind to wander.i was aiming for sitting without music or mantras thinking theres nothing around to distract at all i have never made real progress with meditation and no one teaches you how to use mantras properly no one tells you to pause. but i see now how the mantra helps you get to the point of sitting in complete silence and we get to control the pace with how long the pauses are. I love this Thank you

Thank you so much for clarifying the space between talking and meditation. Nobody has ever talked about this. I am very grateful to make us aware of the space of silence between talking.

As I've lengthened the duration of my daily meditation practices, I started introducing mantas. I hadn't realized that I was being too hasty with how I recite them, and this explanation really changed how I look at the mantra as a tool - thank you Ajahn Brahm for helping me deepen my practices. It will only get more profound from here. Namaste
  • I can't believe this. Finally, I got the answer to my question lingering for about couple of months. Thanks a lot Maharaj Ji. Pranams!

I was waiting on the next word. I’ve developed that need for instant gratification. So in needing to wait for you to continue, I had a minute moment of tension and yes, I was silent. But, tripping out waiting.
