Breakdown on cost of living in Qatar in 2023. This is the full, complete episode on accommodation, transport, groceries, healthcare, education and utilities. All prices quoted are in Qatari Riyals, so please convert into your local currencies.

Transportation:
Qatar has various transportation options available with local buses, taxi service Karwa, ride-hailing apps Uber, Careem, Ryde and also the popular Doha Metro network.

Accommodation:
Without a doubt, accommodation will be the biggest expense you will have. Some employers in Qatar offer housing as part of your salary package so you will not need to worry about it.

If not, then you will need to search for your preferred location depending on where your workplace or your children’s school is located. Doha is a small city and even if you drive from one end to another, it might only take you a max of 30-35 minutes.

Utilities:
Qatar has one electricity and water provider called Kahramaa. For gas, most areas use cylinders and residential LPG, provided by Woqood. You can easily purchase them from your nearest supermarket or petrol station.

Ooredoo and Vodafone are the two primary telecommunications providers in Qatar. Both providers have prepaid and postpaid plans available to customers. They also have internet plans with various benefits, such as the inclusion of landline services.

Entertainment:
There are numerous things to do in Doha. With FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 approaching, many new theme parks, hotels, entertainment areas are opening up for families to enjoy.

Education:
Qatar has a world-class education system. If you have kids, please make sure to negotiate or check if your employer is offering school fee reimbursements in your salary package. Many employers do, or else you will have to save up for fees.

Groceries:
There are many supermarkets in Qatar where you can find local and imported food products. Some markets even cater to specific nationalities.

When purchasing groceries from supermarkets, or other markets, you would notice that locally sourced products or "Made in Qatar" products are priced cheaper than imported ones.

Healthcare:
Qatar has a world-class healthcare system. Fortunately, citizens and residents of Qatar are eligible for Qatar's free or subsidized public healthcare services. The Hamad Health Cardprovides these services at Hamad Medical Corporation and Primary Health Care Corporation's Health Centers.

9:48 Thanks for a fantastic video and I’m so impressed how you reply to everyone!that NEVER happens in the comments section. I have monthly repeat prescriptions for scheduled drugs that I get from my GP/doctor in my country.I have a concern that if I move to Qatar how will I be able to continue being able to obtain the medications as these are scheduled drugs that require a doctor’s prescription? I have been to Qatar in 2017 on holiday and stayed with family.I like the country and Doha is family friendly (better than Dubai imo) and seems to offer a much better work life balance. We are a family of 5 and interested in Qatar. Thanks in advance and your content is honest and to the point 💯
