  • Paul and Bethany do such a wonderful job! So glad they're comfortable having us all watch while they work!

Hi Laura & Aaron! I hope this wonโ€™t be too long but Iโ€™ve been waiting to subscribe & comment for about 5 mos! I recently retired from education last June. Iโ€™ve loved calling myself a Gardner all my life but really didnโ€™t feel like a true Gardner until this point in my life where I could devote my time & heart to it. Last fall, when I could no longer do much outside, I began educating myself with videos online & planning my next season! I started looking up videos & sites that taught me about the plants I was interested in. That brought me to you. Your style & zones seemed to fit mine (mostly) & your simple & joyful gardening tips spoke directly to me. Iโ€™m sorry to say I had never heard of Garden Answer or you two until I began this journey. When I discovered you actually had a journey of your own, I went back to the beginning season of this property (mid 2016) & began binge watching the videos from beginning to end, chronologically. My husband soon became very familiar with your journey as well haha. Watching your lives change with children was so special. I feel like I know your mom & dad & sis by watching them become more comfortable as your journey evolved. I recently (about a week ago) finished & basically โ€œcaught upโ€ to the present. Iโ€™m not sure what I will do with my time lol, thankfully the growing season here in Northern IN isnโ€™t too far out! I just had to thank you both, from my heart, for sharing your journey & helping me start mine, (finally! Better late than never). It was a wonderful way to spend the winter months๐Ÿ’œ

The painters must smile at all the "fairy work" that gets done when they step out for lunch! ๐ŸŽ‰

I love the way you ended the video. The chance to see you enjoy the fruits of your labor take a break and chat with us.
  • Laura thank you for sharing your God given talent, beautiful family and your beautiful home with us! You are such a positive uplifting soul!
  • Paul is so diligent in his garden work. I love the fact that he and his sister work together. The entire operation is a family endeavor.

I very much enjoy your sitting in the garden for a minute or so and talking through the projects and sharing your thoughts and insights. My gardening has slowed greatly as my body ages. I have fewer, less involved plantings in smaller space. Evergreens and shrubs with pots of no maintenance flowers fill my love for gardening these days. I love your vitality and new adventures and development of your property. Thanks so much for sharing.

This video was a pure joy to watch! The kids brought sweetness, the joy on your face at the end, Trans planting those iris, and the pansies. You're so lucky to have Paul and Bethany! What a wonderful life! โคโคโค

Laura, you are a true gardener! We never throw anything away that is green, we just move it. Enjoyed sharing your day.

Went back and looked at an old garden tour because I couldn't handle not knowing what color the iris are and you were right, they are super dark. Either black or deep purple. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  • @lisafenno4563
It's nice to see you sit down and admire all the beautiful surroundings you all have accomplished.
  • @GwynneDear
I donโ€™t usually plant pansies in the spring because they are so short lived. Last year I went through a tough divorce and had to move into a rental, leaving the 4 year old gardens I built from scratch behind. Yesterday I couldnโ€™t help myself and I got out as many pots I could afford to put plants in and filled them with pansies. My little courtyard is so much happier for it. I saved some money by getting some bigger pots that had multiple plants in each and split them up. Itโ€™s a nice reminder that after winter always comes spring.
  • I love the elegant simplicity of the containers and the center of the Parterre Gareden being just fresh mulch and boxwoods. So lovely. ๐Ÿฅฐ
