FIRST! Uhhhh đŸŽ¶BOW CHICA WOW WOWđŸŽ” Also this vid was writen, recorded and mostly done a ton of months ago and it doesnt fully represent how I feel now that Side order is so close

I think story mode is actually what lowers that barrier to entry to a point where its not that bad. The devs made it so that it teaches the player all the mechanics and was intended to be played first. that way when you go to your first battle you can hone your skills of observation rather than forgetting how to shoot. Splatoon 3 actually did an even better job at this since it also shows the player all the multiplayer weapons and even the specials and subs.
  • Im praying that side order knocks everyone’s expectations out if the park and then some. Ive seen many people buy splatoon 2 just cause they heard the dlc was awesome, so with that and maybe another actual good season, I hope more people would be willing to give splatoon 3 a try.

I still love this game and I really hope they find a way to bring more players to the community.

Yeah as a casual I completely feel this, the game feels too slow moving to keep me engaged, at least a year has passed and it feels like the snipwritter and big swig were the last weapons that were new to experience. I got so out of the loop that I didn't even see the side order ad drop until a couple of days later. Maybe that's why they held off the gold dinamo to let you know they still had variety planed

Its crazy that after the game being released for over a year, it still has a lot of connection isues

I think the barrier to entry is really an important point that you make. We as a comp community have also not made it accessible for people to learn about players & teams as well.

Gotta appreciate how hard he was working to get this video out mid tournament run
  • @SDoge1
Another reason can also be because the devs aren’t the same as S1 and 2

I especially feel this the most with table turf. It felt like it took ages to get to level 50 and I had this game since launch. And all I got was a measly badge and title. I wished they incorporated stuff like items instead of the locker stickers as a reward, or some outfits like the clone jellywears. It honestly doesn't feel like theres anything worth grinding for anymore because now you just get a badge or title and it really sucks tbh.

Splatoon 3 has a massive content grind honestly, Catalog is a fomo thing that punishes you, See that fancy thing? Well too bad you will have to grind for it, Catalog just tacks on this extra grinding thing for no reason also things got expensive as all hell for no reason, the problem with money in 2 was that after you spent it on all the gear, Weapons you had nothing else but gear grinding but that's just me i guess but moving back to it I feel like Catalog is a detriment to the game

The barier to entrey, the bad maps, and the lack of special and new content ( looking mainly at splat fests )

The ongoing wait for second kits is not something I thought I signed up for

The matchmaking problem is so real. You’d think it would be a no-brainer for the devs to make it LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE for day 1 players to get matched against someone in S+, but nope, I see them in turf all the damn time. I had a friend who tried to get into the game, and he ended up dropping it shortly after because the barrier for entry is ridiculous. It makes me really sad to see this happening everywhere. I can’t help but wonder, if S3 had been my first game in the series, would I have dropped it too? Honestly, probably :(

I'm a long-time Splatoon player - I used to play competitive and I have well over 3k hours on Splatoon 2. I was super hyped about spl3 on launch and defended it to death, but now I don't think I've touched it for like over a month? The content drought, the underwhelming or boring to play kits, the lack of fun modes (I played comp but I don't like solo ranked lol), the special power creep. I definitely think this game should've been released later, as simple as that
  • @Snorlax-
I got Splatoon 2 in late 2019, when there was no new content releasing at all (Besides the repeat Splatfests) and yet I still found enjoyment in the game and could play it for 1-2 hours (Coming from someone with a shit attention span and can’t play any game for longer than an hour at a time thats saying something) and now? Yeah I still play S3, but I really only play 1-2 games to level up my catalog and then call it a day. Anytime I play ranked I always get bombarded with people who are way better than I am, and I feel like I’m losing more games than winning (Even in turf). The story mode was fun, but there isn’t much to do after you complete it. At least in 2 you could unlock different weapons if you completed every single kettle with them, but in S3 that’s not the case. There’s just nothing to do to make it “fun” anymore, especially for new players.

Meanwhile here I am wanting to play this game but unable to cuz my switch's battery is going swole 💀

I think also many people don't consider how Nintendo Online is also a factor why many people don't want to get the game, with every person I have talked that are interested in Splatoon they all told me that the reason they won't get it is because of Nintendo Online, aswell with some people that can't play the game because their subscription ran out, maybe it's just a small part? But it's still a reason i've seen for people to not pick up the game

I am addicted to this game... As in I want to quit, but I can't...
