    This soup looks amazing. Having said that I will say this this soup WILL NOT make your blood sugar drop. This soup is loaded with carbs, very high carbs. ALL carbs turn to sugar in your blood causing your sugar levels to up. I am diabetetic and I really hate it when people make FALSE claims about food for diabetics. This recipe will cause a blood sugar spike which is very bad for diabetics and when done often can lead to severe consequences and even death. PLEASE CONSULT A DOCTOR BEFORE GIVING MEDICAL ADVICE!! It is very dangerous to give advice to diabetics on how to eat when you have no actual medical knowledge!! I am a diabetic and have been for 10 years. However, my blood sugar is under control and I am off of all medication because I eat an extremely low carbohydrate diet. You cannot eat things like beans if you are diabetic and want to lower your blood sugar levels.

    I just wanted to say, thank you. I have tried this recipe and found it wonderful. My mother and I are both diabetic, so this meal is a welcome one. The broth was super delicious. So much so, that mom said that I could just make broth alone. 😅 The veggies and ham were complementary to each other and the beans made it extra special. Thanks❤
