Turning off my hot water heater- at the breaker- except for 3 hours daily - dropped my light bill $15🌺
  • I said this before, this is a better place to post. Lights out, I bring in lawn solar powered lights from outside lawn to see around in the dark.
  • @gabor.legrady
We prefer Petzl Zipka headlamps for lighting - wherever you go the light is going with you. These are small an operate with usb chargeable replaceable battery or 2xAAA. The price is affordable, and we have many around the house at hand's reach.

Thanks for another great video. I've been considering that very same Pecron unit.
  • Larry - thank you for your informative videos - I just watched this one on Youtube on my tv.. I don't always understand amps, watts, etc. but trust that if you recommend a product I can look at purchasing it. I am going to get the radio. The recent tornado that went through Cole (east of me) and Etowah (north of me) Oklahoma knocked out my power. I had the flash lights but had no radio communication. It was a horrible feeling! I would appreciate it if you could do a review on battery powered tv's. Spent all my childhood vacations in Peoria - still have family there.

A dual power (battery/plug) fan to keep cool during summer power outage.
  • @johnmal5975
I love my pecron so much I bought a second one as well. You did a outstanding job explaining how the pecron works better then most solar channels! Anyone on the fence about solar this station is the best bang for your buck hands down.
  • Having been off the electrical grid for years, this more of less sums up our day to day life… I also buy rechargable AA and AAA batteries for our cheaper lanterns and headlamps too, as well as out many smaller power banks. We keep an eye out and buy the power banks whenever they go on sale, with regular use they only last a few years, but it’s significantly less expensive than buying name brand “disposable” batteries

Larry I was watching a video you and Hope did a fw months ago about different sources of power. Because of your video, I bought an AYL 1800 Lumen and because money was tight I bought a small Power bear transistor radio. Wahat I'm trying to save up for is one of those Oupes portable generators. Thanks for an excellent video as always.

I have lots of Ryobi tools and many batteries. Ryobi sells several lights that use my batteries. I charge the batteries with a 120 watt solar panel. With a few lights i can light several rooms for several days. Other cordless tool makers sell lights besides Ryobi. So that 2000 watts are going run that battery down in a half hour. Its not a 2000 watt-hours system. The battery decides the watt-hours, the inverter determines the watts it will provide to loads. I have a similar unit by another company. Plug your refrigerator into this and expect it to last maybe 12 hours. Do the math 1050 kWh by the load to be powered and you get the time you’ll have power. Adding batteries increases the time not the load that is limited by the inverter.

Portable Power Bank.... what brand is it that you have in this video? I do have the radio and tonight I got it up and running! Very helpful video and I shared it with a couple of family members. Thank you.
  • @KC-dr3cg
What kind of solar panels, is it a pass through generator?
  • @knoxrunner
Larry, can you do a review on a solar generator with a dryer connection? Also, I would like to get your thoughts on moving from non-water proof panels to adding 2-3 rigid fixed panels (non-roof mounting, but semi-fixed). Thanks!
  • Thanks for thre video Larry! Do you know of any power stations or solar generators that would be good for apartment living?
