For people who spend a lot of time bashing corporate jobs, they sure seem to enjoy pretending to be in one.

If I said “pour into me” at my 9 to 5 job, I think I would quickly find myself in an “exclusive” meeting with HR.

There's something almost childlike about these grown adults being (or pretending to be) excited about going to a meeting or signing an NDA, I've yet to see someone in corporate post "yay, went to a shareholder meeting today!" on social media.

Imagine being in a real meeting at a legitimate job and whipping out your phone to film everyone around the table for social media?? So cringe.

I accept not everyone is privileged enough to avoid fast fashion brands, but the fact that someone who claims to be earning so much money can't shop from more ethical brands than Shein is so irritating.

Tax preparer here: none of the things listed by that person are tax deductions. And the reason she thinks she can do that is because uplines have been telling them for years that they can write that stuff off. If a tax preparer is letting them get away with that they are risking their own cpa or EA license by including that on a return.

‘Playing corporate’ THE BEST way to describe it. A lot of times watching them talk about ‘running their business’ feels like when a parent has to bring a kid to work and the kid has a spiral notebook and glitter pens and pretends to be a secretary or teacher… like it all feels so … pretend

So they aren’t board members, corporate officers, or in any way part of the ACTUAL ownership of the company? It’s like they are playing office. And you’re right about the pouring into us thing. It’s gross.

Shein clothing definitely screams “boardroom in Miami” as a millionaire. Sure. ….. (I’m not knocking buying clothes from wherever you want to buy them! And she looks cute! But….I’m not sure how many CEOs buy their boardroom clothes from Shein and use that as a flex)

Them: I had a board meeting, I signed an NDA, we listened to the CEO, we had lunch and it was so exciting. The rest of us who have real jobs and do this crap every few years: Last time I had to go to one of these I faked appendicitis to get out of it because it's boring as hell.

As someone who actually sits on a board of an organization and regularly sits on other board meetings and shareholder meetings ... their level of excitement and enthusiasm is legit concerning 😂 even more so with the context of how much they HATE having set schedules, corporate settings, and designated lunch/break times I have never left a meeting going like "YAY WE MADE DECISIONS" ... like .... duh??? Really speaks to how little agency they have in their so-called "business"

I work in a pretty boring, casual office, and normal people try to avoid the conference room because in a real job it's where productivity goes to die (also it's always really cold for some reason). There are soooo many jobs out there for these women if they want to get paid a real wage to attend meetings. Someone please start a project manager MLM!
