In this video, I converted an electric chainsaw to a battery chainsaw. The original power tool is made in Japan, it runs AC 110V that can't be used in my location 220V. I want to use this chainsaw for Durian pruning in my farm, so the battery is the best choice for me. It isn't powerful like a gasoline chainsaw, but I can cut some branches easily.

About the dc motor
High-power high-speed motor, motor diameter 60mm, similar to the 9 series motor, double ball bearings at the front and rear, built-in cooling fan blades, 12-pole motor rotor, power exceeds 885/887 motor, the carbon brush is a high-current high-copper compensation type. 18V requires more than 80 watts even when no-loaded, so a high-current power supply or a power-type high-current battery is required to drive it, or it can be slow-started with a DC motor PWM speed regulator. This can reduce the instantaneous high current impact of the motor starting on the power supply.
The motor test speeds at 12V, 18V and 24V are as follows:
- 12V voltage, no-load current 4A, no-load speed 9200 rpm.
- 18V voltage, no-load current 4.5A, no-load speed 14000 rpm.
- 24V voltage, no-load current 5.3A, no-load speed 19000 rpm.
The motor weighs 760 grams.

The motor was originally used in high-power power tools. The dynamic high-power motor has a maximum power of about 800W compared to similar motors, and the peak power exceeds 1000W.

I hope you find this video useful and enjoy it!
Furthermore, I am happy to receive feedback, suggestions to improve myself.
Thank you very much for choosing to watch my video!
Have a nice day

I find that the chainsaw lacks a little power when cutting, a 24V version would perhaps be more efficient, otherwise very good work

Dear master I subscribe to around 800 channels on YouTube, but you are one of the 2 channels that I added likes in the first few seconds .

Love watching your videos! Could you do a tutorial on how you rewind the motors and how you determine what’s a good voltage to convert too?

I Miss the Old Power Tools Restoration of you, the one without Conversion.

  • I always enjoy your videos. This saw turned out a little low on power, but awesome restoration and conversion.

как всегда хорошая работа. удачи вам в делах

A single battery chainsaw will cut through its power quicker than wood, you should double up the battery and use a 40v motor
  • Buenas noches amigo desde Colombia cuando vas a subir un nuevo video todos lo que has realizado los he visto ya varias veces son muy buenos e instructivos gracias en espera de un nuevo video
