During a high speed pursuit of a stolen car with 2 armed suspects inside, the pursuing officers radio ahead for assistance. Their message is received by a truck driver located just up the highway, who agrees to help, and proves to be successful in keeping the fleeing suspects from passing him.

At this point, the suspects, realizing that they'll never get past the truck - or quite possibly die trying - finally pull over and surrender.

Most police officers would not encourage ordinary citizens to get involved with police business, but fortunately, this citizen turned out to be anything but ordinary. Because unbeknownst to the officers at the time, the truck driver was actually a former Alabama Sheriff's Deputy.

  • I highly doubt that truck driver knows that 1 million people know what he did
  • @OrcinusDrake
Years of experience of being cut off had prepared him for this moment.

What a legend. Handled that heavy truck like a boss and carried on with his delivery, not even expecting a thank you from the cops..definition of a class act right there! Hats off to this legend!

Somewhere out there, a truck driver is telling his grandchildren of the time he helped the police to stop a speeding driving by wavering all over the fast line, just for his grandchildren to say “I’m sure you did Grandpa, let’s go get your meds”

The trucker probably got home, popped open a cold one, and told his son or daughter the amazing story about how he helped stop a dangerous police chase.

Later in the day Someone: "How was your day." Truck driver: "Nothing much. Just stopped a chase, became a hero and got a compliment for delivering on time."
  • My dad was a truck driver. We heard these stories from time to time, not always him but fellow drivers too. Truck driving is a profession, and those guys and girls take the safety of the highway seriously.

Love how he’s using the 10 codes. And also how he’s just so chill and calm and then keeps going
