Loyal Theorists, today we’re BACK with a follow up to our Roblox Doors theory! The Doors developers dropped the BIG Hotel+ update on us RIGHT after our previous theory came out and we played it with our friends on @GTLive. But now there's a lot here to confirm what we talked about previously, so today we wanted to take a closer look at one specific character and the role he plays in this universe! So settle in and make sure to keep that door CLOSED!

Something to also note. When you get to A-1000 and you're in that void, the bridge you are standing on is wooden and broken, with floating pieces. It is almost identical to the bridge you see outside the front door of the lobby. This could have certain implications, but nothing is too clear about it yet.

If Matpat was my history teacher, I might actually pay attention in class

Funny thing: Guiding light actually DOES interact with the world. He pushes over a lamp in Door 50 that attracted the Figure so the player doesn’t die.
  • Another folklore name for duendes more on the southern part of México is the “Aluxe” (pronounced /alushe/) which are little humanoid creatures made of clay that run around collecting anything they deem valuable. The more you know 😊
  • Now it's worth mentioning that when Figure is Distracted in the library, the Lamp that distracted it has the blue light on it for a couple seconds, potentially indicating that they can interact with objects
  • Gotta say, Matpat is SO dedicated to all four channels and I respect that
  • 11:16 Guiding Light can interact with objects as seen in the Library with Figure. During the cutscene, you can hear a lamp fall, and that is what distracts Figure from the player. If you look over to where the sound was, you can see Guiding Light's particles around the lamp. But that's just a theory, a Lamp Theory! No wait... wrong one...
  • game developers just need to let this guy write their lore for them
  • As of late MatPats theories either come out just as new info is revealed, or new stuff is revealed just as he releases a new episode lol. Cant catch a break.

Here's an idea for a Doors theory: Notice how whenever you use the crucifix on entities, there's a ring on the ground? Pretty obvious, but have you tried translating the markings on the outer ring? Don't worry, the Doors Wiki has done it for you. I forgot what it says exactly, but something about "One of the three ones is helping you" something around those lines. This is clearly referencing Guiding Light, since the crucifix glows blue. But this states, there's 2 other "lights", like Curious Light shown right here. Then who's the 3rd? I have two guesses. Either they're Red Light, who give power to A-60 (glows red), connecting the worlds of Rooms and Doors, and breaks Guiding Light's crucifix powers when dealing with their "favorite entities" (Figure and Seek, as the crucifix turns red when used on them.) OR it's Green Light, seeing as blue + yellow make green. This last one is very hypothetical, since there isn't much evidence for this one. What do you think? Edit: NEW INFO FROM KREEKCRAFT Apparently, MatPat's theory is wrong in two ways. a) "This game is taking a relegious turn" The devs have confirmed over on Twitter that the game has no intentions of depicting religion, but adding the crucifix seemed like a fun, original idea (check the @RediblesQW account) b) "These lights can't interact with the real world" In the Figure cutscene from the library, when you enter the room, this is actually what happens: You open the door, Figure hears you, comes at you ready to kill, hear something break, and turns to the left. If you look at the left, we see a broken lamp with blue sparkles This means, Guiding Light knocked over a lamp to distract Figure and avoid us getting killed by it.

This man creates half the lore but I still believe that those doors at the end of the rooms could lead to similar universes like “alone” maybe the mimic
  • @sobadmona
Something that I think should be talked about is who when you're in the rooms with another partner and they stray to far ahead, glitch will teleport you to him. Which is really interesting because it's the only entity that can cross dimensions. It would be really cool to make it a mini-theory. Thanks!
  • guiding light in lore is actually pretty powerful because they are able to break lights, control lights, show where the keys are and also is able to warn us when rush or ambush is coming
  • @Acctackyboy
MatPat deserves so many awards I swear, he puts so much efforts into his vids.
  • @creenderomega
I really love all Matpat's theories in all four channels
  • @Hollow2035
MatPat has taught me more than my history teacher.
  • I can listen to matpat teaching history with more interest than my teacher
  • @wayzy6868
One of El Goblino's dialogues talk about a "macho-meat-dud" who ran through the hotel destroying stuff, so I'm pretty sure that means El Goblino himself isn't the one who caused all the wreckage in certain parts of the room.
  • @4EVER_CLOUDY
Imagine the doors creator seeing this and going like: aight, I didn't know there was more to my own game
  • I just have to say, if neither guiding light nor curious light can interact with the world itself, then how did the door ending the seek chase get closed? (We’re not even close to it when it’s slammed shut). And, it’s believed that guiding light also knocked over the lamp in the library to distract the figure because when figure runs off we can see a faint light and sparkles start to fade away.
